Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation, Davao de Oro

Excellent World Class Resort from the Dusit Thani Group with Dusit type facilities, the Villa with Private Pool was fantastic, probably the best in the Philippines I have seen to date over 24 years visiting, the concierge and butler service was superb, the facilities, were second to none, the breakfast in the morning first time we had been offered sourdough bread in a Philippine Resort, attention to detail shows that when you want something its there, for the price paid and the facilities offered, with the transfer service from D2 Dusit in DAVAO CITY to the resort, and speed boat 10 min transfer across the water to the resort the welcome, all in all a fantastic experience, highly recommended and not to be missed anyone who goes after us, please ask for the floating pool breakfast, its to die for !!

i really loved the room and the accessibility of the spaces within the resort. however, you have to pay for most of the amenities and activities they offer, such as the kayaking, diving etc.

the food was not great, especially the dinner buffer. my family and i didn't understand the food options available for the dinner buffer, and it seemed like an afterthought. they mostly served carb-heavy options, like pasta, noodles, fried rice, and potatoes. we only had 1 option for a protein - the mongolian lamb. they took so long to refill the food that we believed they had no actual plans of refilling. i found it funny that there were more and better options for the breakfast buffer, which was really good. another thing we didn't like was the service. the service was really bad and slow, and we felt like the staff didn't communicate with one another. we arrived around 10:30AM at the resort, as we planned on having lunch there and to check in early. we waited in their game room/waiting area where there was a starbucks on site. there was no barista available to take orders, so we had to talk to the staff in the restaurant instead. they told us that they would forward our orders to the barista in charge. after waiting for an hour for our coffee and drinks, we had to complain again to the restaurant staff and were met with disappointment and annoyance when we found out that the barista was just waiting somewhere in their employee lounge. it gave us the impression that he was not told about our coffee orders. we had to wait another 20-30 minutes for our drinks. by then, it was already a 1:00PM. the restaurant was even worse. we had to wait 2.5 hours to get a table and for our food to be served. some of the other guests were already complaining about the bad and slow service. we ordered room service for dinner and asked for rice instead of mashed potatoes. we got the dish after almost an hour and a half of waiting. they ignored our request and served us mashed potatoes when we deliberately asked for rice. we called up their room service again to ask for rice but were told that the rice would take another 20 minutes to arrive to our room.
