Villa Ameera Malindi

The staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful, relaxed setting.

The property has a lot of potential, but there are a few areas that could use better maintenance, upkeep, and attention to detail. Some aspects didn’t quite meet our expectations for the price.

Our stay at Villa Ameera was truly exceptional—the property is a peaceful, relaxing sanctuary and the staff were incredibly welcoming. If there is one thing that would make the experience perfect, it would be the addition of a breakfast service. Otherwise, it remains our top recommendation for anyone visiting Malindi.

The amenities were nice,it had a homely feeling,the cute birds,nice lounge and pool.The kitchen had most of the kitchen appliances.It was easily accessible but you will need a tuktuk person to move around.I used Jamal: 0797902606,he knows all the areas so it was easy to move around. I also liked the staff they were very welcoming,and in general they maintained the place well.I also liked that they were flexible on checking in time.

-The room was a bit stuffy,and the drawers and wadrobe dusty. -The area was not very secure at night we were advised to take a bike or tuktuk -We had a whole blackout and there was no backup.So carry a powerbank or two just incase

The grounds are beautiful and the staff fid their best. Howver, it was evident that they are untrained and had to get instructions from the owner (Mustapha) via phone regualrly.

1. There was ine shared kitchen. The cgef was available on request and would be paid by each individual guest directly( each guest haf to cater for their oen groceries in addition to payinv the chef). 2. I arrived at 7.30 pm on thursday. I had called ahead to commhnicate that i would be later than had been indicated. Neuther the ownwer nir the manager were present to receive me. I was tecejved by the guard, who did a good enough job, given that it isnt his role to welcome guests. The guard also helped me order food from a menu that was available on site. However, the cafe did not have my first two choices off their menu. Eventually i settled on chips and black coffee. It arrived by was more of stale potato wedges than chips. The coffwe was 1 small satchet of instant coffee and half a cup of lukewarm water(i think some spilled in transit). There was also some residue at the bottom of the cup. 3. They have peacocks on site who squawk all through the night and early morning 4. The bathroom/ toilet for my rokm was located outside the room. It was also not lockable and even though the guard assured me nobody else would use it, i couldnt really be sure. It made me quite uncomfortable especially going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. 4. They only gave me one little piece of soap in the batbrokm and didnt restock for tge 3 days i was there. The room and bathroom were also not refreshed or cleaned throughout my stay 5. I had planned and hoped for a lazy day spent within the hotel and even a chance to enjoy the pool. This wasnt possible as i had no choice but to go out and source for food. I ate all my meals out and carried takeway for dinner. But atleast the kitchen is stocked with appliances so i could use the fridge and microwave as needed. 6. The cupboards in my rokm were lovked shut and one was even barricaded. I couldnt store my thinvs and operated out of my bag for the 2 nights.
