Gorgeous setting and lovely. beautifully maintained period buildings.
The long walk from the car park to the accommodation. made worse by the fact that the lawn was sodden and had recently been mowed. By the time we reached a pathway we had wet shoes covered with grass cuttings. A narrow path across that area would have improved things no end.
Also it would have been good PR to have briefly met our hosts. In 3 days we only saw them from a distance. They could have told us about their lovely property and whether we had settled in OK.etc.

Nice clean room
There is no wifi connection in the room , and there is very weak phone signal in the area which make communication to be difficult.

Obviously the owners are doing it hard. Everything lacked maintenance, the bed was old, creaky, mattress hard and you could feel the springs. The pillows were disgusting, we had to go and buy our own. The sheets were grubby and had holes. The lighting from the carpark was an accident waiting to happen, either non existent or not working. We had to fix the sensor light near the door so we could see to get in!
Customer service non-existent. Didn’t see a soul. Why does the carpark have to be so far away? Struggling several trips with our bags in the pitch back was a serious problem. They should check their solar lights and sensor light at the carpark gate and door of the unit.
After all that I needed a glass of wine - the glasses were dusty eye baths - really they should get some of the beautiful glasses they use at the delightful Union station hotel
