Accommodating host, pleasant stay

One Night Stay, was comfortable and value for money

Aircon was faulty in one room, we did however have a fan.

Terrible.

Nothing.

The person was very rude, and chased me out like a dog. There was no proper service. He called is with mean words. He was very racist and said we are talking about rubbish. I’ve never heard such a terrible stay in Roberts Place. I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

Would not recommend this place.

Beds were comfortable. Room was clean.

The owner controlled when we would have elerticity. Paarl is warm and then all of a sudden the aircone would just switch off and some of the plugs did not work. We could then not even turn on the fan because the plugs did not work. The room is also poorly ventilated with only one window, so the fan and aircone is neccessary, wich we could not use most of the time. The room is also seperate from the house where the kitchen is. One night I went into the house to make some coffee and the owner rudely shouted, who is in the house if I were a thief. We also did not have a lot of privacy. The owner was friendly most of the time, but seemed disingenuous. We definitely wont recommend this place for anyone and will not be staying there again.

Worth every visit I intend making every month and staying there

It was stressfull and felt undermined

The location itself is good

It is true when they say all that glitters is not gold, the place needs renovations, as it is winter with cold front cold, the shower had cold water, the fan heater in the room is making noice and lot of water coming out of it and water running on the floor. I am not underming backpackers but the place was overcrowded. There was a paraffin heater and that for me was too low as parafin is smelling and cause some tight chest to me and people smoke inside the house. I was shocked when the owner come to fix the heater in my room in the afternoon and he goes down the whole trouser was below the bums and all the bums out, that was really unproffesional.

Friendly owner and upgraded us to bigger room.

Guesthouse rules not suited for us so we checked out 3 days earlier. Music played till 22:00 and talking by other guests very audible in the room. Bar area open till 00:00 with guests walking up and down, talking loud and even tryingbto get into our room (by mistake hopefully). Smoking allowed in the house (not in the rooms) as well as owner pets, had a big impact on my child who had asmatic reactions to it. Very nice owner, just the wrong fit for our family stay.

We arrived at this place and was shocked. Owner was barefoot an had a dirty shirts on. He appeared in the reception thru... it looked like bedlinen curtain an was very unprofessional. The photo's on the site is not a true reflection of the state of this place. We left as soon as we could and looked for somewhere else to stay! Shocking that booking.com does not confirm the state of the properties they put to market. I would never let my family stay in a dodgy place like that. Can't be child friendly.

Disappointing

The pool board and the swimming pool was awesome.

The fact that when we came there no one was expecting us, but i asked to came earlier and i got a response saying its fine and the place was under construction. When we came there, we werent informed about using the the kitchen or the wifi or where our toilet is,or how the bar worked so we had to asked everything around. The toilet that we were supposed to use alone, was used by someone or more people and the person left it dirty when they were done using it. To be honest, we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable.We couldnt wait to leave.
