Great location and decor. Lovely garden and relaxing bathroom. Great coffee shop across the road.
Air conditioning upstairs wasn’t as good as downstairs.

We have stayed in various ryokan, hotels, and machiya stays in Tokyo and this one feels quite authentic, like someone’s real home. It has plenty of space and is very comfortable with everything you need. We loved the cotton robes and extra towels. The floor beds and pillows were the most comfortable ones we’ve had of all our futon beds in Japan. It’s also a very quiet street with a nice private entrance and lots of space for strollers, bags, etc. Easy cheap taxi or stroll (20-30 mins depending on your pace) to the geisha district, samurai district, or incredible castle park. Also close to 7-11 and some good local restaurants. Only 5 mins drive from the station.

The house is absolutely beautiful. It was our favorite place that we stayed on our trip. The location is quiet and walkable to many things. The hosts were very helpful and explained everything to us when we arrived. This house was an amazing find and we would definitely stay again.
