The White Horse

The White Horse was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated being allowed to check into our room early so we could get ready for a wedding nearby, it made the day much easier. The room itself was comfortable and we had a pleasant stay overall.

At £279 for one night, we felt it was quite expensive for what was included. There’s no spa, our room didn’t have a bath and overlooked the car park, and there weren’t any complimentary drinks or little extras that might have made the price feel more justified. For that price point, we expected the stay to feel a bit more special.

Everything except the bathroom

Hard to get temperature right in shower due to stiff mixer taps. No mirror in bathroom made shaving difficult. Service in restaurant a bit hit and miss.

Nothing it was perfect

We stayed for three nights. The room was very attractive, dinner was excellent and the hotel is located in a beautiful area.

Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the property. Check-in was confused and unprofessional. We were told that no twin room was available, although our room turned out to be a twin room. The heating had also been left on at full power despite very warm weather, making the room extremely hot on arrival. Throughout our stay, some staff members were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Breakfast service was slow and inattentive, and our room was not serviced, with the beds, used cups and tea supplies left untouched. Overall, the hotel itself has a lot of potential, but the disorganised and unfriendly service created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
