Mutiara Beach Resort

The location was lovely, on a long white sand beach, off the road, surrounded by trees and palm trees...the local style thatched houses were set back from the foreshore which was visible through the open grounds, studded with palm trees and shade trees surrounding the houses. I had a river-house, self contained with its own facilities easy chairs , a table and a hammock on the front deck and a day bed at the rear. The double bed was comfortable with a full mozzy net and an oscillating fan above it. Monkeys visited my river house most mornings!! The grounds were nicely maintained, places to sit and read under the trees and around the reception/kitchen area as was the beach which was raked and tidied daily. There is the opportunity for non motorised water sports with kayaks, paddle-boards and alike available at the beach. There were ample sun loungers on the foreshore in shaded and unshaded locations and a couple of net hammocks slung between palm trees adjacent to the beach bar, readily available to take care of those beach-side refreshment needs. The beach was great, white coral sands, clear cool water and good swimming at all stages of the tide and good for kids, non swimmers and competent swimmers. It was easy to just loll in the shallows or strike out for deeper cool water a short distance from the beach Meals and room service were something else..., the meals were great, the service impressive!! The comprehensive menu and drinks list were available by QR code download or in hard copy and was so easy. Orders are placed by whats-app to the kitchen and where you would like to be served; the dining area, your accommodation, the beach bar or your sun lounger and the requested items would be delivered to you by a staff member. The meals were great and freshly prepared, the drinks menu was comprehensive , for me... the beer always arrived cold and often with a still chilled glass. Its a great place for a laid back relaxing break or an active holiday..your...

The staff and food have been amazing. The beach right in front of the cabins is beautiful and well maintained. Possibility to snorkel and see sea life few meters away from the beach. I appreciated the coconuts taken directly from the resort palms :). Unfortunately in late august south currents dropped down the water visibility but I'm sure that in other periods the visibility is much better.

I wanted to stay more :)
