The camp is in a beautiful location in the mountains with the river nearby. There are many fun activities available.
Dona is very welcoming and helpful and the facilities are very clean and comfortable.

This place is magical. I planned a 2 day stay and ended up over 10 days here. Dona is an absolutely lovely person and host. The views are simply stunning, I loved sitting with my coffee every morning, looking out the tent, waiting for the sun to rise above the mountain top and shine on my face. I absolutely loved the animals, they are super sweet, gentle and well behaved. I also appreciated that Dona always checked they weren't bothering me. She also very kindly asked me to stay in the caravan when we had bad weather. Loved the good hot hot showers, and the bathrooms were spotless, constantly cleaned throughout the day, bins were never full, never ran out of TP. The garden /bar area was beautiful, good place to sit and soak up the sun, have a coffee and do some work. Loved that the river was right in front, i spent nice afternoons by the river reading and swimming. Also loved the location, outside of town but easily reached with a nice 30 min walk by the river and forest. They also offer rafting, which was a really fun experience. Safe, well equipped, friendly & professional guides. Dona's daughter is actually the first female guide in Albania! Dona's husband, Ben (super nice too) also offers guided trips in the area but. I didn't do this. The weather was too cold for me in Oct, I spent most days enjoying the place. Super peaceful, great vibes. I can't wait to come back!!

It is difficult to put my finger on what makes this place so special - it just has a very beautiful atmosphere. Maybe it's the easy access to the Vjosa River for a swim, in a secluded area and a beautiful handcrafted bridge over head, just a 5 minute walk away. Maybe it's the ease and quiet, as there were not many guests at the time I stayed. Maybe it's the unexpected gift of being free to harvest from the grounds multitude of fruit trees - figs and apples still ripe when I was there. Oh and she let me pick walnuts and crack them - quite an interesting project with a stone! :D The multitude of rosemary bushed adorning the place, and the topping of almost all my meals, were a huge highlight. The view to the mountains is stunning, and all the animals make the place lively.
I was also really impressed by the young lady running the whole place. It was very hopeful and beautiful actually to see a woman in charge in a country like Albania, for this reason alone, I would recommend people to pick this spot to support her.
The host, Dona is her name, is incredible, and even when there are lots of tasks to do around the place, she always took the time to stop and chat with me, showing genuine interest in my travels and life - it means a lot when you travel alone. On my last morning, she gave me a coffee and sat with me to see me off, as the place wasn't busy. It meant a lot - I left feeling like I'd been part of the family in a little way.

Honestly, I don't have anything to put my finger on, I would feel a lot safer travelling around to camping spots, if I knew all were as welcoming and satisfactory as this one.
