Hemingways Nairobi

The take-away breakfast on the day of our safari was excellent. The breakfast at the hotel was also very good indeed. We loved the small fruit shots - and the hot breakfasts were good too.

Service can be slow in the bar and glasses are measured by eye not by volume. There was an instance when we were ordering wine by the glass and one glass was clearly less than a standard glass but as the bottle was finished, we were given what was left! Some of the staff may be very skilled at pouring an exact 175ml glass... but I don't think they all are. The barman fixed this problem. In addition, we ordered some cocktails and the waiting time to take the order, and then make the drink was so long that our meal had arrived before the drinks. Perhaps this was because it was a Saturday when guests come in from outside the hotel? It could be worth having more staff to help if this is the case on such occasions. The rest of our stay was first class: the staff, even in the bar (☺️); the welcome; the beautiful room; the food quality... the amazing view from the terrace at sunset.

I liked it all.. even thought it’s in the absolute top end of the cost scale..

Need’s some TLC-doors to room are dirty and upstairs bar area is bland-needs redecorating. Spa also need’s remodel
