It felt like you were staying at your family cabin! Clean rooms & lovely host who was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with despite the language barrier.
One shower room was modern, the other was a little run down. Pillows could be better

We loved the hospitality and staff there, Midori and Kaz were always super kind and were able to provide lifts to the local mountains as the shuttles weren’t always running. The rooms were big and there were plenty of communal area space to chill out in. Very traditional vibes for the the lodge.
Not a dislike but worth mentioning these things: It is about 25min walk to akakura township and some of the room heaters were kerosene - they are in every bar and restaurant in town too, so very common!
