Das war eine der besten Unterkünfte in Bocas del Torro.. super entspannend auf diesem schwimmenden Häuschen, chillen in den Hängematten. Sehr bequeme Betten. Gratis Trinkwasser. Handy laden nur tagsüber, da die Lodge mit Solarenergie arbeitet. 3er Steckdosen sind mehrere vorhanden.
Das Festland und das Haupthaus war nur mit dem Schlauchboot zu erreichen. Etwas abenteuerlich, vor allem in der Nacht nach dem Abendessen. Dafür konnten wir die Bioluminiszenz von der Terrasse aus beobachten. Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen gab's im Haupthaus. Essen war ausgezeichnet! Silvia nahm auch Rücksicht auf spezielle Wünsche. Preise waren sehr moderat.
Schwimmen ging gleich von der Terrasse weg. Das Wasser war unglaublich klar und sehr warm. Es gab Seesterne und Korallen am Haus. Oliver und Silvie sind sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit bei allen Fragen. Wir haben auch die Schnorcheltour nach Isla Zapatilla hier gemacht. War etwas günstiger und vor allem war es eine Privattour. Oliver brachte uns zu einem recht interessanten Schnorchelspot und danach noch vor den Touristenmassen zum Restaurant zu einem recht guten Mittagessen.
Wir durften auch die Kajaks gratis nutzen sowie die Schnorchel Ausrüstung.
Einmal gab's stärkeren Seegang und die Wellen schlugen ans Haus in der Nacht. Sonst war das Wasser immer spiegelglatt. Also keine Angst, dass es stark schaukelt. Wir haben wirklich gut geschlafen
selbst mit den Tierlauten rundherum. .. gleichzeitig Brüllaffen vom Wald und Hähne von den Einheimischen. Ggg. Und es gab eigentlich keine Mücken!
Erwähnen möchte ich noch dass es im Bad nur kühles Wasser gibt, was in der Früh doch etwas erfrischend ist..
Im Zimmer gibt es keinen Kühlschrank man kann aber im Haupthaus etwas aufbewahren. Ich habe mir von Almirante etwas Wurst fürs Frühstück extra mitgenommen..
Insgesamt war es hier wie Urlaub bei Freuden. Herzlichen Dank an Oliver und Silvie und die beiden süßen Hunde!
P.s.Transport von Almirante sollte man gleich mitbuchen..
Es gab kurzfristig mal Quallen die aber bald wieder verschwanden..sonst war das Wasser glasklar und gut zum schwimmen

Great bungalows FLOATING on the water. Free kayaks available (go an search for sloths!). Great and tasty food. Do yourselves a favor, be open minded, so they will serve you stuff from the garden (and maybe sea) you might have never tried before! Totally tasty and highly recommended! Very nice and helpful hosts Sylvie and Olivier. It was a pleasure hanging with both of them each evening and listen to their stories and learn lots of stuff. They also have two friendly and adorable dogs and a cat roaming around - just for info. NOTE: you need to take a taxi boat to get to the lodge. This costs a few bucks but is worth the trip. Due to the location you might eat at the lodge as well - which is worth every penny and highly recommended (see above). And last: you need to take the paddle boat to get from your floating bungalow to the "restaurant"/lodge, which isn't for everyone BUT a lot of fun (U can do it!) Overall we spent a couple of nights there and would have stayed longer, if it wasn't fully booked afterwards. Very cool place to relax and come down! Thanks for having us Sylvie and Olivier!

Hola! Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt bei Sylvie & Olivier! Es fühlte sich an wie ein Besuch bei Freunden. Ausgezeichnetes Essen, alles selbst gemacht und mit besonders viel Liebe zubereitet! Alles super super gut, besonders hilfsbereite und sehr sympathische Gastgeber! Die Lodge ist wunderschön und es ist überall sehr sehr sauber. Super coole Möglichkeiten stehen kostenlos zur Verfügung wie z.B. Kajaks, Dingy, Hängematte und Schnorchelausrüstung. Unbedingt würden wir empfehlen die leckeren Cocktails zu verkosten, natürlich den Rum nicht zu vergessen…wir vermissen den Pina Borracha jetzt schon…haben Gott sei Dank Rum im Gepäck. Danke für alles!!

We booked El Toucan Loco for the final leg of our trip to Panama. My husband had been in a triathlon and we wanted to relax before heading back to UK. El Toucan was just perfect. Sylvie & Olivier have created a floating lodge which is ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle and relaxing and enjoying the environment and scenery which we take for granted.
The food served by Sylvie is fabulous. Incorporating fresh local produce with a french twist. You can scuba and Kayyak around the mangroves. We saw a sloth which was amazing. Olivier and Sylvie are excellent hosts - we took a boat tour with them which was fabulous.
If you want shopping malls and bars then this is not for you. But if you enjoy relaxing and being at one with nature then what are you waiting for? Book up today!!

The second room (wirh 2 single beds) was not included in the price (not as mentioned in booking.com) and we had to pay 25$ extra per night. Also the transport from Bocas town was more expensive as I expected and was nit mentioned on booking.com

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The facilities were really unique being a floating cabin with a dinghy to use for access. Absolutely loved it and was the most relaxed I have felt on a very long time. The sounds of the waves lapping with the jungle sounds of monkeys and birds mixed in was incredible. Swimming off the deck was wonderful and convenient.
Olivier and Sylvie were incredible. I enjoyed their stories and learned so much in the process. He was an amazing guide and a wealth of information.
I wish I hadn't scheduled my trip so tight and had been able to spend more time there. I guarantee that I will be back, both as a returning guest with my family and perhaps even as future neighbors. I am sold on the beauty of the area and equally as much on the quality of the people that i was fortunate to meet.
I highly recommend staying here and can honestly say it was a stand out highlight of my 3 weeks in Panama. Don't miss this one, it is worth it.

It was very unique and designed with love for details.
They have only this lodge so you are the only guests there and can enjoy your privacy on your own lodge.
Or have a short kajak trip in the bay to see sloths or if your are lucky see dolphins in the bay.
The hosts are great, helpfull in all ways. For me and my girlfriend it was perfect, they organised unique trips and specials for her Birthday.

After reading all the reviews and checking the pictures we were expecting something extraordinary, but what we saw on the spot exceeded our expextations. The location is just amazing. Far away from the civilization which was absolutely fantastic. The house is beautiful, bed very comfortable, you have even home-made eco soaps in the bathroom. There is kayak attached to your house for use FOC as well as the snorkeling equipment. Water around is warm - swiming at dawn was just superb! We saw sloths with small baby in the mangroves nearby and dolphins passing by our floating house. There are also howler monkeys in the forest and you will definitely hear them while you rest in the hammock. Amazing experience! There are few homes around belong mostly to indigenous people - you will see them passing by in their traditional cayucos. Meals are prepared by ex-chef Sophie and you eat them each time with the owners - there are no other guests - they have only 1 floating house. You have to try her home-made jams made from passion fruit, banana, guanaba, papaya and delicious home-made nutella. Her hot chocolate is something not to be missed. Lunch is 10 USD, dinner 20 USD and it is really worth it - especially her sauces (thankfully she shared her recipes :). Transfer from Almirante dock is 30 USD one way and is organized by the owner.

The photos accurately reflect the visual beauty of this place. You are indeed living in your own beautifully crafted floating house, set aside by itself in a beautiful bay below the owners' house up the hill. The French owners are very friendly and attentive to your needs and provide lovely home-cooked meals, with lots of fresh ingredients from their organic garden. This is a very different experience. You are the only guests. You need to take a (very short) kayak from your floating house to the dock to walk up to the main house for meals, and you take all your meals with the hosts. If you prefer anonymity this may not be the place for you.
We came to this place for the experience of swimming directly off the deck of our floating house. We confirmed this was possible with the owner before booking. Unfortunately, after we got there (and had our first long swim) we found out that the toilet from the floating house released directly into a bucket with holes in the water you swim in; and all the neighbors just flushed their raw sewage into the water as well. We're not biologisits so no idea if this poses any health risk but it was sufficiently unappealing to us that we cut our stay short and left after two nights. While the hosts held different opinions about the impact of the sewage, they were very professional about our decision and only charged us for the nights we were there.

The lodge is so cute & cosy! Beautiful cabin in "the middle nowhere"! Perfect for some days of rest and enjoying the Bocas area in a Caribbean way. The hosts Olivier & Sylvie really make you feel at home and can tell you all about the area. The couple is very passionate about the ecology of their home and the wellbeing of their guests. And last but not least... Sylvie's good is incredible!! We had an amazing stay and would recommend it to everyone!

We arrived at "El toucan loco" for a duration of 8 days and shortly we figured out we don't really want to leave.
With the warm hospitality by Olivier and Sylvie in their beautiful eco friendly floating lodge you will feel the Real Panamanian experience with the surrounding serenity and locally grown food.
Starting the day with a delicious breakfast and finishing with exquisite dishes for dinner-Sylvie will make sure you will be asking for more delicacies.
The floating lodge is an amazing experience if you want to enjoy the wildlife with the comfort of modernity. Very helpfull in organising daytrips.

I can honestly say that staying with Olivier and Sylvie is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our stay was more of an adventure than an accommodation. Olivier picked us up and dropped us off by boat, we snorkeled and saw the coral reef for the first time, we toured the immaculate gardens with tropical plants and fruits I have never seen before, Sylvie is an AMAZING professional chef who cooked up French/Panamanian food from the land and sea, Olivier helped us spot sloths in the mangroves, and you literally can lay in hammocks on the water. Olivier even set up his personal sailboat for us as we mentioned we love sailing. I would go back in a heartbeat. My favorite part was hanging on the deck of their home. I love asking questions and hearing more about their experiences and the building of the bnb.
We loved it all. You are on the Caribbean and on the side of the jungle. This is a unique and amazing experience and you will love it as long as you have a bit of adventure in your soul and are comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone a bit.

Cleanliness, privacy , comfort. Sylvie’s food is absolutely the best food ever. She is a master chef and combine very exotic flavors locally found and never discovered by others. The combination of flavors and textures is absolutely divine to the taste. Highly recommended if you value your privacy and want to really relax and rest.

This place is truly fantastic. To live in this floating bungalow on the sea is just an amazing experience where you can calm down and relax to the fullest. There is a little boat and two kayaks to get around in the water for no charge which enables you to go see monkeys/sloths/starfish and have a great adventurous tour. Also snorkeling equipment is available. The breakfast but also their lunch (and I guess their dinner as well, but we didn’t had it) is prepared just for our own wishes and Silvie, the French owner was a former chef which you can definitely feel and taste. Local food and individually prepared - we couldn’t ask for more. Also, we had a good chat with the French couple every evening and during the day which made us feel just so comfortable - we could spent as much time as we wanted on their beautiful land and around their house. Besides that of course the highlight is just the bungalow itself…hand painted and build and just unique. You have everything you need and direct access to the water from your doorstep. Shower and toilet on the floating bungalow as well - everything’s in perfect shape. All in all, we can recommend this place 100% for some private time and relaxing.

Everything was perfect, the Lodge for us was just beautiful, what a little paradise, the place was clean, bed comfortable and the meals we’re delicious. Olivier and Sylvie were very welcoming and we loved having dinner with them in their house. Overall the floating lodge is a great, private place to relax, swim, kayak and just enjoy life. We would love to come back one day.

Wow, what a gem. Really enjoyed our stay here, away from the hubub of Bocas on a beautiful calm bay with wildlife all around. The lodge itself was perfect, with the outdoor bathroom meaning you can wash while watching the fish! The boat to reach the jetty and the mainland was great fun. The starry sky at night was wonderful, with no light pollution to get in the way. Olivier & Sylvie were excellent hosts. The food was super and it was lovely to chat over meals. This is a great place to go if you want to escape the town and enjoy the natural surroundings. Meals are spent with the hosts, which we enjoyed, but if you want to be anonymous then this isn’t the place for you.
