Die Lage ist absolut sensationell: Hochgelegenen Empfangs-und Speiseraum hat man eine wunderschöne Aussicht über das Tal hinweg. Und in den kleinen Bungalows erlebt man das absolute Mittendrin-Gefühl direkt am Flussbett.
Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet und bieten durch die breite Glasfront einen ganz besonderen Charme.
Highlight sind natürlich die Game Drives, direkt nach dem Lunch-Snack bzw. vor dem Frühstück. Hier wird alles getan, um den Wünschen der Gäste nachzukommen.
Zum Abendessen sind die Tische sehr ansprechend eingedeckt und das Menu hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch das Frühstück bot ausreichend Auswahl, um gut gestärkt in den nächsten Tag starten zu können.
Der Wermutstropfen zur Lage ist ganz klar der 11km lange Weg über eine Schotterpiste bis zum Parkplatz.
In Summe sieht man leider den Zahn der Zeit an der einen oder anderen Stelle der Gebäude. Speziell im Bad ist Oberflächenkorrosion bei den Armaturen eine leicht zu korrigierende Sache. In den Zimmern wären ein paar zusätzliche Ablagemöglichkeiten nett und der Teppichboden wirkt etwas altmodisch.
Am seltsamsten fühlte sich das Fehlen eines echten Türriegels an.

Our stay at Greenfire Game Lodge was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to South Africa. From the moment we were picked up at the airport in an open-air safari vehicle for the scenic one-hour drive to the lodge, the adventure had already begun.
The lodge is beautiful and perfectly blends comfort with an authentic bush experience. Every detail makes you feel immersed in nature without sacrificing luxury.
A special thank you to our guide, Given, who made our safari unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the wildlife. He answered every question and was always understanding when our family occasionally ran a little behind for the early morning drives.
The lodge offers two game drives each day, each lasting over three hours, giving you plenty of opportunities to experience the incredible wildlife. We watched elephants wander through the lodge, had a hyena that loved hanging out near the walkway, and saw every member of the Big Five. The buffalo was the last on our list, and we finally spotted them on our drive back to the airport, making the experience feel complete.
The food was outstanding, and every meal was delicious.
One of our favorite memories came unexpectedly when the power went out one evening. Rather than being an inconvenience, the lodge was lit by candlelight, our family played cards, and we enjoyed getting to know another wonderful family staying there. It ended up being one of the most memorable nights of our trip.
Greenfire is more than a safari lodge. It's an unforgettable experience filled with incredible wildlife, exceptional hospitality, and moments you'll remember for a lifetime. We left with amazing memories and can't wait to return.
