About this house rental

Situated in Governors Harbour, this charming house for $650 per night is a great option for your next break. The ground floor of Sweetcorn House is open and spacious, and features a large and sunny living area, ideal for entertaining. The great room has comfortable lounge seating for families, and a dining room table with seating for eight. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and features an island, with additional bar-chair seating. There is an adjacent powder room and laundry room, complete with washer and dryer. There are two separate bedrooms on the ground floor, both with private en-suite bathrooms - one is a Queen room and the other, a spacious King Suite, with additional sofa bed. This bedroom also has a mini kitchenette, with coffee/tea making supplies and toaster, as well as a separate side entrance. The top level of Sweetcorn House is devoted entirely to the master King bedroom Suite. This spacious suite features a sitting area, modern bathroom, two private balconies, and a sun deck with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Sweet Corn House overlooks tropical, landscaped gardens with a private deck and swimming pool, and a casual outdoor dining area. There is a newly added screened in porch to the south of the house. At the guest's option, the pool can be heated for a fee of $300 per week. Beach/pool towels, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment and several cooler bags are provided for guests' use. Other amenities at Sweetcorn House include ductless air conditioning throughout, large, flat-screen SMART TV, Wi-Fi Internet, land-line telephone, Bluetooth speaker, travel crib and high chair, and an outdoor gas grill. Although Sweetcorn House is offered self-catered, housekeeping services, private chefs and provisioning, and other resources are always available for an additional charge. This property is part of the distinguished Governor's Harbour Collection of properties and can be rented along with other homes to accommodate larger groups. The town of Governors Harbour, a three-minute walk down the hill, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit Haynes Library, which dates from 1897. Governor's Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, dive shop, and several gift stores. A stroll downhill from the estate in the other direction leads to French Leave Beach, one of the finest beaches on the island and one of the great beaches of the Caribbean. By foot, it’s about 8 minutes to French Leave, a mile-long crescent of pink sand which is literally deserted most of the time. By golf cart, French Leave Beach is no more than 3 minutes from Sweetcorn House. The island of Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.

The house was perfect for a family of 5. This house was comfortable after a long day at the beach. We cooked almost every day in the well equipped kitchen, slept comfortably, cooled off at the pool after dinner. Location was close to several beaches and restaurants. We highly recommend this house for your next vacation to Eleuthera.

We stayed from June 9 - 16, 2022, and the property is even nicer than the pictures. They really think of every detail, and it is professionally decorated as well. The beds are all comfortable, air conditioning in every room, all appliances, including a professional blender, were in working order. The pool was perfect temperature, not too hot, even in the hot June summer months. You most definitely won't need to heat the pool at least in the summer. The distance to both the beach and town were just right to still give you a lot of privacy. We snorkeled at French Leave Beach, but didn't see a lot of fish. We also went to Cocoimama Beach (also called Receiver's Beach on Google), and that was beautiful. My husband and daughter went to Levy Plant Preserve, which they liked, but said it was rather hot (steamy), like being in 95 degree humid rain forest with the bugs that go along with it. All the restaurants we ate at were very good, but be prepared for food sticker shock both at the restaurants and at the grocery store. My husband and I have been blessed to travel a lot around the world, and we prefer homes or airbnd's, and this is the nicest one we have stayed in, EVER. It is a great value for what you will get in return. Don't pay too much attention to restaurant reviews, we almost didn't go to Tippy's and it was the best dinner we had. Travel with bug spray, you will need it just to walk outdoors everywhere you go, even at the restaurants. It has rained a lot this spring in Eleuthera and the mosquitos and flies are thick, the locals told us even more than normal this year. But the beauty of the island, the water, and this property so make up for it, you won't think much about them at all. We like to explore new places, but if we find ourselves back in Eleuthera, I would most definitely want to stay here again.

Sweetcorn was the perfect rental! It had everything you could possibly need. The property managers, Joy and Dom, happily and promptly answered any questions we had before arriving. Dom met us when we arrived and went over all of the information about the rental and town. A wonderful gift basket was waiting for us as well! The house came with everything, including plenty of beach towels and beach bags, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas, and floats. We had the perfect vacation and look forward to returning to Eleuthera! I highly recommend Sweetcorn!
