The house is very pretty, really wanted to experience american house living, the host even washed my shoes in the washing machine, he was so kind. He was a history teacher, so there were very interesting topics to talk about.

We enjoyed every minute spent at Oak Retreat. Ellen and Neil were exceptional hosts, and they made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. Our room was so comfortable and cosy, the bathroom was fully equipped with beautiful toiletries provided and the shared living space/kitchen had everything you needed. The garden outside was magical, we could have sat out there all night with the fairy lights. Oak Retreat was very conventionally located for our 2 days visiting Yosemite. It was about an hours’ drive to the Yosemite entrance (we didn’t mind the journey as it was all part of the experience!) Ellen and Neil were so helpful and gave us lots of information about Yosemite as it was our first time going! All in all, we are so grateful to have stayed here as part of our west coast honeymoon trip, and to have met such lovely people on the way. Thank you again! Chloe & Jack x

Comfortable, clean and great hosts. We had access to everything we needed, Local restaurant and shops nearby. Liked the blue heron and oakhurst had lots to choose from. The wildlife was cool, saw humming bird, rabbit and deer while having coffee on the verandah.
