- Donner Memorial State Park: In the Sierra Nevada, this park has recreation opportunities year-round. Camp, picnic or go horseback riding in warm weather. Cross-country ski or snowshoe during winter.
- 20 Mile Museum: This roadside attraction is a 20-mile ride along Old Highway 40. Interpretative signs, photos and facts tell the story of Truckee with the scenic views along the way. Each of these interpretative signs explains the history of the place.
