Our stay at the temple was amazing - the atmosphere there is so unique that it simply cannot be explained but it needs to be experienced. We had a stroll around the temple grounds, chilled by the river and did two activities - sutra copying and zazen with the chief monk. Highly recommended for your next stay!

Le temple hotel Daitai Ji est exceptionnel , par le faible nombre de résidents et de chambre, il respire le calme et la sérénité. La cuisine partagée est très pratique si l'on ne veut pas sortir le soir pour dîner , d'autant plus que les déplacements doivent se faire en voiture ou en bus / taxi vu l'isolement du lieu (ce qui est un point recherché normalement par les résidents).
Les environs proches du temple sont très agréables, avec une rivière qui coule à proximité et des saunas à disposition.
La chambre la plus grande est un véritable appartement au sein du temple, en style japonais, c'est excellent.
Les autres chambres dans le temple sont correctes , mais celle à côté de l'autel et de la salle de prière a quelque chose de spécial.
Il est possible de se balader autour du temple
Le onsen n'est pas un réel onsen mais il a le mérite d'avoir la configuration avec la douche et le bain à côté (une baignoire occidentale en réalité).
Le moine n'était pas trop présent lors de notre visite (2 nuits) et j'ai trouvé cela dommage de ne pas pouvoir le voir parcourir et vaquer à ses occupations.

This location was so amazing. It was up in the hills on the coast. It was relaxing and perfect. There is a river out back and we just took chairs there and sat right in the river. So relaxing and just what we needed. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Just a great place away from the main business of Japan.
There is no food options on site so if you want anything you have to bring it.
But we didn’t mind it, because it makes sense once you’re there and see the place.
We had a wonderful time here.

Position and Charme of temple
The host was gentle but some things doesn't work, it's difficult to go there and the price is high for the kind of service, no breakfast, no dinner, bed were pretty hard.
