Cozy and spacious with impressive views, Mountain Ridge Cabin is a charming 2-story home that sleeps up to eight people. Mountain Ridge is only a couple of miles from Tuckasegee River access, and about 30 minutes from destinations such as Cherokee, Bryson City and Cashiers, and 45 minutes from Asheville. Coming to town for a WCU college sporting event or graduation? This is a prime spot, only 5 minutes from campus. Dining, shopping, hiking and more await you in Sylva, a short 10-minute drive. Retreat to Mountain Ridge Cabin and please the whole family! On the walk-in level upstairs, find two bedrooms: one fitted with a queen bed and the other with a bunk bed and futon that the kids will love. The living room is equipped with a traditional stone fireplace, perfect for enjoying the cool mountain air and panoramic views from the porch, then retreating inside to share family time by a toasty wood fire. Venture downstairs to the third bedroom, den and game room, complete with additional fireplace, pool table, and bar. There's even a fully stocked game closet for the kids. My family rented this home to attend WCU graduation. Location was perfect, very close to WCU. Home was exactly as described and had a lot of space. My family was able to spread out a bit and not be crowded. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with just about every kitchen gadget you could want. The only issue we ran into was finding it the first time. It is very much at the top of the hill on a one lane road, arrive before dark if possible. We would certainly recommend this home and would stay again if we were in the area.

Great home with a view Only concern is the many wasps in the bedroom. Luckily, they were discovered before anyone was stung They kept falling down from the attic access in the hallway must be a nest there.

just a little awkward getting to with the narrow one lane road. And nothing to do outside. No hiking trails, etc.

The cabin was perfect for our family of 8. Lots of stuff to keep the kid occupied with the pool table and closet full of board games. The only issues we had were that the TV’s hard a hard time streaming anything (which we kind of figured might be the cases with how remote the cabin was), and the crazy steep and narrow road that led to the cabin. The road can only fit one vehicle at a time and was really twisty so if we ever came across another car going the other way (lucky this did not happen to us during our stay) there would literally be nowhere to go in some places as there were drops and rock walls on each side of the road. It was scary to drive during the day and terrifying when dark. Especially since there are not street light.

We spent a magnificent week here. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. The deck and the Mountain View's were beautiful. We welcomed spring with wild turkeys walking by and lots of fishing. We appreciated all the extra touches in the cabin that made our stay so nice.

We were in town for a WCU graduation and needed a place to stay. The home was very clean and well equipped. We were able to make dinner for 5 people as the kitchen had everything we needed. The huge deck had beautiful Mountain views with comfortable rocking chairs. This place would be great for a much longer stay and would certainly accommodate many more guest.

Pretty view
We enjoyed our second stay at Mountain Ridge cabin. We like the fact that the cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood that feels very remote but is near many of the things we like to do in the area, as well as restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. The cabin is
comfortable and cozy, and the views are really pretty.

Cabin was well appointed. Better than I was expecting. It had more of a openness to it. But the driveway was a little shocking. I could navigate it well but thought there should have been a warning

My family of 6 loved this cabin! It's an older cabin but to me that makes it even better. The views were amazing, the game room was so much fun, and the seclusion was perfect! My kids even asked if we could stay here on our next visit. The drive up is not steep at all which is a plus. Only thing that may concern those with larger vehicles is the road up to the cabin is extremely narrow, one vehicle only, and no where to pull over so you have to back down that narrow winding road which can be a little nerve wracking. Completely worth it though! We will definitely be back!

The reason for our rating is that there were dead bugs all over the floors downstairs, the refrigerator leaked water inside and everything that was in the drawer was ruined, the WiFi was very spotty and it was difficult to watch TV because it kept freezing, the kitchen faucet was about fall off and the light over the stove didn't work and we were very disappointed when we tried to play pool because there was a rip in the middle of the table and the slate was broken under the lining and you couldn't play! Also the bunk is not a full on the bottom it is a twins!

You cannot beat the view. The only downside was there was only 1 TV for 3 bedrooms. The one downstairs wasn't hooked to anything. We loved having a Smart TV in the living room. It was all well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Loved the area.

House is outdated, has a bad smell, the carpets are dirty and the pool table was destroyed to the point that it was impossible to play a game on it. Very disappointed that I paid as much as I did for this stay. Would never have booked if photos and description were accurate!

The view was wonderful! The cabin was equipped with plenty of cookware, dishes and glassware which we appreciate since we eat most meals in.
The only complaint I would have is the carpet is in need of a good cleaning as is the upholstery on the sofas in the living room.

We loved our stay here. This adorable cabin has curb appeal—and then you walk down the wrap-around porch, and the view is even better than the photos! We loved spending time sitting out there. We were surprised by a porch swing and a Hobbit House, lol, too.
The inside was nice and neat, also. It is nicely and comfortably furnished and decorated.
There were many dead millipedes in the basement, but we called, and they were taken care of immediately. Having lived on acreage ourselves, we know this sometimes happens, particularly after treating (which was the case here), so it was ok. Some more appeared the next morning, but we just vacuumed them up instead of calling. No big deal.
Besides, the basement is a great, spacious area with a pool table. Our “kids” (age 24, 21, 19, and 15) particularly enjoyed it down there.
