Overall an excellent stay, will certainly consider it again

Great location for Ambleside, Coniston, and Great langdale, staff very friendly and the breakfasts was excellent.

Promotion of pets , ie puppies go for free for example, not sure if that's a good idea in my opinion

A consistently good stay and great value.

Comfortable, clean and excellent value. Good cooked breakfast, lovely staff and an excellent base for great walking.

Whilst part of its charm is its cosiness and its old world familiarity, it is a bit dated in the way the staff dress and its offering at breakfast, which is needlessly fussy, for my taste. The full English is great but the buffet/cereals etc is the old style canned fruit segments, fruit salad and Tupperware containers which could all do with being revamped. Personally I prefer to help myself to tea, coffee, toast etc and pass that saving on for better quality coffee and bread, but that’s just me. Still a lovely place.

Perfect location. Had booked as a single person. Thought I was going into a single room, but happily was upgraded to a double room with a beautiful view. Would go back at anytime.

Magical location, beautiful walks on the doorstep. Great little hotel with great staff

it is a fantastic location. Great ambience and very dog friendly. Food was was simple but really well done and tasty. The room and beds were really comfortable. Great value for money

Pleasant stay in quiet, small hotel in central Lakes.

Superb location for exploring Lakes. Rooms, food and staff all very good.

Breakfast is waiter service for everything, even cold items more usually left out as a buffet. This makes breakfast slower, and certainly feel slower, which could be irritating for anyone keen to get on with their day.
