I had an amazing long-term stay at Hotel Dewanekhas skardu ! The hotel and staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready with helpful tips for exploring the city and nearby spots. The atmosphere is peaceful, cozy, and truly feels like a warm community — it honestly felt like being part of a family from day one. The dorms are comfortable and well-equipped, and I loved starting my mornings on the sunny balcony. Evenings spent sharing chai and stories with other travelers were some of my best memories here. I’ve stayed in hostels across Europe, and this place genuinely matches international standards — in terms of hospitality, it even exceeds them
Highly recommended for solo travelers and anyone looking to connect with fellow backpackers.
The only downside is that it’s a bit far from the main areas of Skardu , but the experience and hospitality more than make up for it.

Clean and good rooms. The staff is very nice, kind and helpful . Good Wi-Fi connection. The hosts were really kind and helpful, arranging cars when we needed to travel onwards, kept our bags whilst travelling to khaplu barah moses peak treks and helped us stay an extra night ,We spent two nights here. It is possible to eat in the hotel

Excellent location. You can walk to all the major parts of the town.
Nice restaurant. Good selection of food.
Friendly staff.
Accepts credit cards.
Powercut is quite often in Skardu. The hotel has a generator.
WiFi works usually in the restaurant at certain hours.
Constant water problem in the room. It is difficult to take a shower.
The rooms aren't cleaned properly and they were probably never vacuum cleaned. There was trash from the previous guests. There was sticky and gluey stuff on the table. so I regretted putting my things on it.
