About this cottage rental

Inkpen Cottage is a beautifully restored Grade II listed red brick retreat nestled in the East Sussex countryside. Once a farmworker's cottage, this detached one-bedroom hideaway has been thoughtfully redesigned for two, blending historic charm with contemporary comfort.

Surrounded by open fields and far-reaching views across the High Weald, the cottage offers a peaceful sense of seclusion. Inside, natural light, locally made clay tile floors with underfloor heating, and a calming palette of muted tones create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The open-plan living space is perfect for cooking, dining and relaxing, while a wood-burning stove adds cosy charm on cooler evenings. French doors open directly onto the garden, bringing the countryside indoors.

The light-filled bedroom is designed for comfort and relaxation, complemented by a bright, modern bathroom. Outside, guests can enjoy a private garden with stunning rural views and a secluded hot tub tucked amongst its own small copse, ideal for unwinding beneath the stars.

Located on Strawberry Hill Farm, with its vegetable gardens, fruit trees and free-roaming geese and chickens, the cottage offers a gentle connection to rural life while maintaining complete privacy.

Set within the High Weald National Landscape, Inkpen Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring picturesque towns including Rye, Battle, Burwash and Tenterden, as well as the beautiful Sussex coast. Above all, it is a place to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the simple pleasures of countryside living.

Additional Information:
Sorry, no children, infants or pets.

Decorated to a high standard we really enjoyed a peaceful weekend here - despite wind and gale force winds. The hot tub was a great feature as was the log burner. The welcome basket was also a nice treat. Would stay again.
