We are the perfect launching pad for exploring some of Tasmania’s beautiful East Coast heritage areas such as The Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula, the East Coast wineries, extensive hiking trails, waterfalls and the world-famous mountain biking tracks around St Helen’s and Derby. George’s Bay is known as the deep-sea fishing capital of Tasmania. Try an ocean charter or visit one of the local George’s Bay oyster farms or seafood restaurants. Your hosts, Hugh and Celin, are keen travelers themselves and are passionate about helping guests make the most of their visit to this beautiful part of the world. Whether it is giving recommendations on what to see and do or sharing best kept local secrets, your hosts take a personal interest in every guest. Celin speaks Chinese, Japanese, English and a number of European languages, so is well equipped to assist our Chinese, Japanese and European friends! George River Park is situated in an area of stunning natural beauty. We selected this property specifically for fishing opportunities as alluded to in the listing. No bites from any point of the river on property and only area easily accessible to the shallow river was the “beach” which is an embankment. Per host’s recommendation we drove off road (need FWD) approx 2 mi to another property access point-no fish. *We discovered Beauty Bay jetty in St Helen’s to be a wonderful fishing spot-<10 min drive.

Perched above St Helen’s, this property had it all! Panoramic views, access to a private beach and river access, cute animals (the reindeer was our favourite) and a huge clean modern house which was a home away from home. We loved everything about our stay and couldn’t recommend this property enough. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again 😊

Very large home with absolutely stunning views. My six year old enjoyed running laps around the open plan living space, and the bedrooms were enough removed that everyone could sleep through her early morning hijinks. We all enjoyed feeding the animals and walking around the property. Given the bad weather during our stay we especially enjoyed the well appointed gourmet kitchen and the comfortable sitting area with Netflix on quite a large tv. The heat worked a treat as well. This trip has been a long time in the making for us, and with COVID we rescheduled multiple times. Hugh was so patient and flexible with us, I am extremely grateful for his hospitality! With any luck, we'll be back again for some nicer weather.
