Located in Paia, this charming cottage for $350 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Grom's Hideaway is a charming cottage nestled in the heart of Kuau Point, the last little neighborhood 1 mile outside Paia(a 5 min drive), as you head out on Hana Highway. Grom's has 3 bedrooms (king, queen and two twins) and 1 Bath with an indoor and a Very Private Outdoor shower. The King and Queen Bedroom have A/C units for the moments when the lovely trade winds are not blowing through. There is a full kitchen, living room, Dining Table, SMART TV, Wireless Internet and Bluetooth Speaker to play soothing sounds to enhance your time there. Grom's can accommodate a max of 6 people. Grom's Hideaway has its own entrance off of the street with a gate that closes to provide a fully contained yard for children. The neighborhood is quiet with little traffic. Outside, on the lovely grounds around the house, there is an outdoor BBQ, Lounge chairs, picnic table and Outdoor shed with a private washer/dryer unit. Mama's Beach with its protective reef and ocean pool are a few minutes walk away. Beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and sand toys are provided with your stay. If you want a little more wave, Grom's is surrounded by great surf for the experienced surfer - Ho'okipa, Mama's Break, Tavares and world class Wind and Kite surfing breaks are all along the North shore or take a down wind SUP. We can assist you with boards and advice on where to go! Just ask! There's a good chance that we will go out with you, if you like! Paia town is 1.2 miles away where restaurants, great shops and the famous Mana Foods reside. And right at the end of the street, the Kuau store has the best coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and more. A perfect stop for a quick snack or drink. So convenient! There's everything you need to have a relaxing and exciting vacation with your friends or family. Enjoy the a beautiful morning at the beach and some wonderful surf, your private outdoor shower, and new indoor shower, an afternoon barbecue, full kitchen, fruit trees on property, and the walk around the quiet neighborhood. Walk over to Mama's Fish House (perennially voted Maui's best restaurant) for a sunset, cocktails and talk story about the day. Grom's Hideaway is a family friendly, free-standing house with it's own gated driveway. Kids can play in the neighborhood because there are no through-streets, no fast traffic. And, the closest beach is protected by a reef creating (usually) a calm beach for young kids to play. Outside the reef is world class windsurfing, SUP, surfing and kiting. * Please note, Grom's has air conditioning in all 3 bedrooms. It is an authentic, Hawaiian plantation style home. Maui is a tropical climate and while there are fans throughout the house and the summer trade winds provide a nice cross breeze, the middle of the day can still become warm.

Lovely cottage in a very unique part of the north shore, walking distance to Mama's beach. This is a small place with everything we needed, a nice break from our regular soulless condos in south Maui. We got to meet some warm and friendly local neighbors and it was great to meet one of the hosts in person when he came by for an announced visit. I would love to stay there again the future.

Our family loved being able to walk to the beach and nearby coffee shop/store. The bedrooms were adequate, with AC units in each room (none in the rest of the house.) It was fun seeing the geckos - especially for the kids. The kitchen had most everything you might need for cooking. Everyone loved the outdoor shower! The owner brought us coconuts and showed us how to open them. There was just enough shade for sitting in in the afternoon. It's not the Hilton - but we really enjoyed it.

Great Maui North Shore Location. Property is very well maintained. Access to Kuau Keyhole for Windsurfing or Wing foiling. Walk to awesome Kuau mart. Met the owner of the property and enjoyed visiting with him as well.

Loved this little cottage! Lots of space, helpful property manager and great home base for all our activities. Could walk to 2 different beaches, Mama’s Fish House and small corner store that had great food and groceries. Well equipped with everything we needed. My favorite part? Definitely the outdoor shower!

excellent surf house
If you are looking for a big hotel experience in Wailea then go stay at the Grand Wailea. If you are looking for a sweet house in Paia then this is your spot. Location is great--outdoor shower is fab, furnishings and kitchen and grill are best I have ever seen in a rental. They have beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and coolers to make your beach experience everything you need. Neighborhood quiets down so that having the windows open at night is no problem. And the owner and his family live right next door and are most excellent. They showed us how to drink from coconuts (from a weird tool in that well stocked kitchen). Part of me doesn't want to even give this place a good review cause I want to keep it for myself. But I just couldn't do that. Much aloha.

Fantastic location and just what we needed
Great location around the corner from downtown Paia. We walked to the market and the shops every day. House was comfortable and clean and worked well for our group of adults and children. Nice private backyard with really soft grass. Only complaint - the hammock no where near as comfortable as it looked in the photos

We Loved Our Time in Pa'ia!!!
We will try to stay here again when we come back to Maui. The owners live next door and are the nicest people I've ever met. The kitchen is just the right size to prepare meals without bumping into anyone. But the outdoor shower was our favorite. Pa'ia is the perfect location to venture out in any direction you like. Talk to the owner (Mike) to find out which is the best beach for the current conditions, he knows what he is talking about. Mike was over with fresh fruit from his own trees and you can't ask for a more welcoming experience.

Kuau in Maui.
It was a good day to find such a lovely "Plantation House , with a porch, in the Kuau area of Maui. Many excellent surfing beaches are within a short walk. Ho'okipa Beach is special where you can sit for hours watching board surfers, wind surfers, and kite surfers. Looking out to sea you often see Humpback Whales surfacing, spouting and playing like children - it's a three ring circus. And you are able to enjoy "Mama's Fish House", arguably,the best restaurant in Hawaii. It's a few minutes walk to a great beach site with fresh caught local fish and exceptional ambiance.
And there is Mike nearby and happy to help with any problems and knows where to find anything you may need.

We can’t wait to go back to Grom’s Hideaway! We've been to Maui many times and have stayed all over the island. We loved the quiet residential location and the home. The house is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden that our kids could play in. It’s a very clean and comfortable Hawaiian style home. The private outdoor shower was fantastic. The kitchen is large and easy to cook in. Again, the location is great – walking distance to a local store with delicious take- out food and an even shorter walk to the beach. The beach is terrific for kids and adults. The town of Paia is a short drive and Makawao is just up the hill. The owners of the property are extremely knowledgeable about the area. They gave us tips on where to go. We had a terrific vacation and we can’t wait to go back!

Ottman Ohana at kuau point
We are always so happy to stay at this nice a tation style house just a couple houses away from the water in Kuau Point. All the Best N shore activities are just a couple minutes away. Fun closeout sets at Hoo'okipa, snorkling at the keyhole, kiting or windsurfing, apre drinks at Mama's? All just a few steps or a quick bike ride away. Gracious hosts and a great location.

Great house in a wonderful relaxing town!
This house has everything you need for a relaxing stay on Maui's north side, everything you need, and nothing you don't. The owner and family live next door and are incredibly welcoming. Paia is a fabulously laid back community with several great restaurants. Just a stones throw away from the water, you can enjoy an early morning wake up swim in the ocean, or head up Hana highway less than a mile to check out the wind surfers at world famous Ho'okipa Beach.
This house is recommended for families looking to relax on Maui away from the touristy resorts in Wailea or Kaanapali.

I loved it!! : ) Exceeded my expectations!
Grom's hideaway is a nice home in a great location. We liked the old Hawaii style home, very comfortable. Quiet and private, but close to the beach (right down the little street). And close to Hookipa and Paia. It was perfect for us as my wife windsurfed right out front, and I was able to walk to Lanes to kite. Great, safe neighborhood for our kids, and a little market at the entrance to the track. The outdoor shower rocked. And yes, the shower is private. And it was cool to have coconuts, bananas and papayas right in our backyard. Can't wait to go back.

AMAZING and PERFECT STYLE for PAIA
This home is just perfect! It has all the essentials one would need... we went with our 6 year old so we ate in a few nights and it was just lovely. there is a beach that has very shallow water for the kids to play and be safe, just a block away. the property owner is the BEST and very helpful if you have any questions or desired places to recommend.
