About this house rental
Located in Maggie Valley, this lovely house for $179 per night is a great option for your next vacation. The Barn Owl Cabin that is truly in the valley of Maggie Valley. Owl-Valley Properties cabins are nestled in the quiet community of Crocket's Meadow. The 1,500 square foot Barn Owl Cabin features 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and can sleep up to 6 adults with two king sized beds (1 is electric) and 2 adult twin beds. Each room has large windows and natural light thru out. You can sleep looking out to the snow or rain falling and wake up to the sunrise; Or just close the blackout curtains and sleep in. Our kitchen is fully equipped with a Keurig coffee maker and a drip coffee maker and all the essentials to cook your breakfast; Or you can go to local favorite Joey's Pancake House minutes from the cabin. We have a dinning table that can comfortably sit 6. Also, a convenient large island for food prep or shopping bags drop off with bar stools for two for extra sitting. There is so much to do here in the Smoky Mountains and we are next to the Smoky Mountain National Park and Cherokee Reservation and Casino. You have skiing, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, shopping and craft shows. The annual Folk Moot Festival with multiple international artists is a great cultural experience that is performed next door in Waynesville. Maggie Valley has many year-round festivals now including the Elk Fest in the Fall. Within an hour and half or shorter driving distance there is Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Lake Fontana for kayaking and boat rentals, Nantahala River for rafting/tubing and fishing. You can still be home by dinner for that nice slow cooked meal you started in the morning. If you just want to relax and stay in the cozy Barn Owl Cabin, you may want to sit out on the rocking chair on the deck and watch the colorful leaves drift in the fall. You may even see an elk herd walking by. Inside, we have a loft with a desk, chair and a recliner chair for those who need to get away for a moment and read, write or work. Our living room has a couch with 2 recliners and 2 swivel chairs where you can watch your favorite shows on cable TV including a premium channel, Starz. Here, we don't have the rain or snow satellite worries. We like the cabin, but without the cabin fever. We want to have our guests have easy access to the Smoky Mountain view without the worry. Can your car make it or will you get stuck or trapped because of the scary drive? No stuck cars here, our roads are plowed in the winter by the city and we are a biker friendly community. For the friends and family, right next door Owl-Valley Properties has another brand new cabin, The Red Fox with all the same amenities. Come and see from your cabin window, the beautiful elevated views of the mountains surrounding you and have the true valley experience.

The cabin and surrounding area were wonderful. We especially loved walking in the neighborhood and talking with some other visitors . Everyone was so friendly.I highly recommend Joeys for breakfast. Absolutely delicious! I also recommend shopping downtown Waynesville, they a ton of nice shops. Hope to return one day .

Perfectly located in Maggie Valley, short drive to Waynesville, 20 mins to Asheville, close to Franklin, Bryson City, Cherokee casino and more. Great cabin, very clean, good beds, TV’s all utensils. Wonderful neighborhood. Can’t go wrong with this one.

The Barn Owl cabin was a great getaway. The cabin is located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. It’s was very clean. We had an issue with the gas fireplace and the owner responded quickly. We had a fire within a couple of hours. I highly recommend this property!!! Will definitely go back again in the Fall.

Our stay was amazing. My husband and I took my elderly parents to the mountains to see the fall colors. They stayed downstairs in the primary bedroom with attached bath and walk-in shower (also had an adjustable bed which was great). My husband and I stayed upstairs and that bed was extremely comfortable as well. There was a 3rd bedroom with bunk beds (we didn’t use this room) and small loft area. The kitchen was well-appointed, communication with owner was prompt and the property was peaceful, quiet and we enjoyed the front and back porch. We were able to see elk nearby, drove the Blue Ridge Parkway which was stunning, went to Cherokee casino, rode the train in Bryson. There is also plenty of fishing nearby and don’t miss Joey’s Pancake House just down the road. Best breakfast! We hope to stay again at this warm and inviting cabin.

Wonderful stay in the mountains! The cabin is well appointed and the views of the mountains are great. Wonderful location in Crockett’s Meadow and evening visits by the elk coming out to graze. Can’t wait to come back!

This was a very relaxing and welcoming cabin. The bonus was seeing the elk, rabbits, cows, etc. Also met some lovely people who were staying in some of the other cabins.

We have stayed in MV several times & also previously in this neighborhood. This property was the best we've experienced so far. It was the first time arriving to a property & just enjoying it instead of having to clean and/or basic maintenence - no cobwebs, no sweeping, no changing light bulbs, etc. The owners have thought of every want/need you might have - even umbrellas, nightlights, dog bowls, etc. The bowl of snacks & bottled water upon arrival were appreciated. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this cabin and the owners. It is an absolutely beautiful place....inside and out. It has everything you need and the owners add special touches like water, chips, and shampoo/conditioner. The owners were amazing. The can opener was broke, and they brought a new one to the cabin the same day that I told them. The area is peaceful and close to the national park. We saw elk in the neighborhood. Thank you for an amazing stay!

From the moment we booked the cabin, we had such a positive experience. Shortly after booking, we were made aware of an important scheduling conflict. My husband reached out to the hosts and they so graciously allowed us to shift our dates so that we wouldn’t lose any money/days of our vacation. They were also very quick to respond to any inquiries and accommodated our last minute change of having to bring our two pups with us as well. The cabin itself was clean, spacious and fully equipped with anything we needed. My ONLY complaint (and it’s only because I’m SUPER critical of places I sleep) is that there was hair under the covers in the sheets on every bed and what looked like a Cheez-It crumb in one of the other beds. I understand that the hair could’ve happened when the sheets were being changed, so I got over it. All in all, it was a great trip and we would definitely consider staying at this specific cabin on our next trip to the Smokies.

We felt very safe ( we are in our 70’s) in this neighborhood! Bed was comfortable and added surprise for us….electric bed! We have one at home! Perfect! A safe and wonderful place that welcomes your pet! You won’t regret renting this Snow Owl cabin!! Highly recommend…and most gracious host and hostess!

Very clean and everything looked brand new. Nice walkaround porch. Birds chirping in the morning. Perfect location in the mtns. For sure get breakfast down at Joey's Pancakes. We would stay there again, highly recommended.

I had to make some changes with our schedule and the owners were very accommodating . The cabin was one of the easiest drives to get to and we saw Elk every day from our cabin or while driving out. Was close to everything. Loved it

My family visited Maggie Valley to ski, and the location is perfect. Sven is an excellent host and the home is fantastic! Everything was immaculate, the kitchen was well-stocked, the furniture was comfortable, and the house was nicely decorated. The neighborhood is quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains. We would 100% stay there again.

My stay at this property was amazing! The description on the booking site was accurate! We enjoyed the fireplace and the modernized cabin feel it gave off. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil and cookware we could have imagined and needed. The host provided a very detailed binder of house rules, instructions, and most important emergency contact information! The neighborhood was quiet and clean as well. The only thing I would say I had difficulting working the thermostat. I'm not sue if it was controlled by a lock or the system. But overall, it was a great stay and the host was very punctual!

We had to wear sunglasses. We came on a biking trip and the Tour de France had started or we probably would have never turned on the tv!! Can’t go wrong with this property!!

Cabin is very new and in great shape. Pretty neighborhood of log homes with scenic views. Very close to everything. Well stocked kitchen, great bathrooms. We did not sleep well on memory foam matresses...too firm. Others may like it. We enjoyed the gas fireplace.
We thought the outside porch cameras were mounted in spots where they could possibly look inside the cabin, especially through the back door that has no window covering. They could be moved to monitor the doorways without having the creepy factor.
