About this apartment rental
The sandstone house built in 1728 was the first school house on site. The baroque-style house was completely renovated in 2004 and corresponds to a modernized monument. The equipment is very individual and of high living quality. Location and materials are 1A. Quiet location with an unrestricted view of the castle. Directly at the forest and vineyards as well as directly at the church. In front of that is an outside seat.

Had a good stay in a nice modernized apartment in the Old Schoolhouse with a wonderful vicinity near church of Mandelring at the montanuous edge of the town.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying in this historical, beautifully appointed schoolhouse. There was such a thoughtful attention to detail every step of the way. We were greeted with fresh flower, fresh fruit and a welcome glass of local wine. Karl our host was kind, friendly and very informative. He gave us wonderful recommendations for dining and wine bar options in the area. Everything is within walking distance, and the vacation apartment is perfectly situated in a very tranquil part of the village, with views of the vineyards and the breathtaking castle.

Die Ferienwohnung bietet Platz für 2 Personen (1 Doppelbett), es wäre jedoch ausreichend Platz für ein Kinderreisebett. Die Wohnung ist schön und außergewöhnlich renoviert und größtenteils auch geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Wohnung befindet sich im 1. Obergeschoss, welches nur durch eine sehr steile Treppe erreicht werden kann. Im EG wohnt der Vermieter. Die Ferienwohnung ist nicht richtig von der EG-Wohnung abgeschlossen. Im Treppenaufgang befindet sich lediglich ein Vorhang. Vom Flur aus geht es rechts ins Schlafzimmer und links in die Küche und ins Bad. Diese sind jeweils mit einer Tür versehen. Insgesamt scheint die Renovierung noch nicht abgeschlossen. Das große Bad ist sehr schön und mit einer tollen Regendusche, die jedoch das warme Wasser zu schnell verbraucht. Die Toilette ist sehr klein und hat eine extra Tür. Dort gibt es aber (noch) kein Licht. Das Bett schien eher provisorisch, da kein richtiger Lattenrost vorhanden war. Die Ausstattung in der Küche könnte noch etwas durchdachter sein (z.B. keine Geschirrtücher, kein Toaster), jedoch wären das nur "I-Tüpfelchen". Der Vermieter ist freundlich, bietet gerne Wein an (gegen eine kleine Spende) und kann sehr gut die pfälzer Weinkultur erklären. Auch Abends kann man vor dem Haus sehr schön sitzen und der Vermieter bietet sicher gerne Wein und Gesellschaft, wenn man das mag. Leider war er bei unserer Abreise nicht da und wir mussten die dort ebensfalls lebende Haushälterin aus dem Bett klingeln. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön, und wir hatten einen sehr schönen Fahrradurlaub!
