About this house rental
Very spacious apartment (55M2) completely renovated. Integrated kitchen open to the living room, a bedroom with a view of the river, bathroom with shower and bathtub and separate WC. Possibility of a portable bed for one person in the living room. Magnificent terrace overlooking the river.
The staircase leading to the gîte is quite narrow and steep and may not be suitable for some people who have difficulty getting around (don't hesitate to ask for more information).

One of three separate but semi-connected accomodations, This gite is the middle of the three, and whilst a delightful location, is not the gite that we thought we were booking. The photographs on the website suggest that the holiday let is the one furthest left, so the one which essentially sits astride the two flows of the Dronne. It isn't. That one is privately owned. The outside space of the first-floor balcony at the front of the property has a restricted view of the river as the side view (that facing the private house next door) is screened off by wooden slats. The entrance to the property is on the first floor, accessible only by a steep wooden staircase. Not ideal, but you soon get use to it. The interior is delightful, with a large bedrom, separate toilet and bathroom (with bath and walk-in shower), and a spacious and bright living-kitchen-dining area. There is a small rear balcony whose timbers could do with a little restoration, so that was mainly used for drying clothes.The gardens nearby are fully accessible, and provide a quiet green space, with a small jetty and a couple of canoes too. The grass was a little long and things a tad overgrown when we were there (end May), but in fairness it was all being tended to when as we were leaving.As this is an old watermill, the river flows directly adjacent to the gite. It should be noted that it is very loud and incessant. You do sort of get used to it after a while.Special thanks to the friendly Babeth!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is in a stunningly beautiful setting with easy access to the river for canoeing and swimming. The gite was a generous size for a couple and was well equipped. Our hosts were friendly and very welcoming. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and would have been very happy to stay on for another week. We hope to return.

We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of September and would happily go back again. The apartment has every amenity needed for a relaxing and peaceful holiday and the gardens are lovely. As the owner says, the stairs up to the apartment are not suitable for anyone with limited mobility but other than that, we would highly recommend it.
