the location is lovely and peaceful. We loved the porch; it was perfect for sitting in the shade. Everything we needed was to hand . It was clean and comfortable . A great base in the New forset .

We had a lovely stay at Swallows Retreat.
The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and in a great location – really peaceful and relaxing.
We had one small issue during our stay, but Pete was on hand straight away and had everything dealt with and fixed the same day, which was really appreciated.
A great place to stay and we would highly recommend it. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked to come back again next year!

The cottage was clean, comfortable and well appointed.
It was lovely to be able to stroll in to the village, to enjoy the pubs and facilities and to link up with local walks.
Locals were very pleasant and welcoming.
Our daughter commented that the twin room mattress was a bit lumpy/uncomfortable.
Our stay coincided with a heat wave, which was lovely however, access to a fan or cooler would have been helpful and would have saved us a shopping trip to buy one.

Swallows retreat is in a great location, out the way, quiet and the dogs loved the outside space
Easy walk into Fordingbridge, had lots of great meals out in the area and easy access to lots of days out and activities
What a shame
Cleanliness let this place down, first thing I did on arrival was hoover. A sea of dead flies under the bed, all sorts down the back of sofa, carpet had crumbs
Annoying flapping air vent in toilet, TV turns itself off
Most uncomfortable bed, we averaged 5 hours sleep a night then gave up as my back was killing me.
