Shioya’s cabins were perfect for a small group like ours. They were stunning on the inside, with a choice of hot spring or normal bath water, plenty of beds, and space to leave our ski gear to dry outside. The owner was very helpful in setting us up, told us about discounts for nearby onsens, and spoke good English. It was great to have a whole lodge to ourselves!
There were no knives, forks, hob, or plates - which made eating a little difficult.

Love that it’s fully equipped facility, except for the stove.
Love the glamping design. So fashionable and cool.
It’s clean.
Comfortable.
Accommodating staff.
I just didn’t like the location. It’s in the midst of the villages. I thought it would be somewhere quiet in the woods. Also I didn’t like how I couln’t use the SPA and bbq dinner and breakfast during winter.

Modern, clean, warm and comfortable. Onsen water piped into the bath. Good location too, 5 mins walk to restaurants and bars.
