Great location

Host was very responsive and helpful, great location in Buenos Aires.

The only issue with the property is that there does not appear to be much insulation, which means noise travels easily. In particular, the lift is quite loud and can be heard in the bedroom throughout the day and night.

Unexpected and undocumented extra charges at check-in and poor maintenance

The location and the nice view from the window on the 10th floor.

Unfortunately our stay was disappointing due to several issues related to cleanliness, maintenance and payment transparency. The apartment shows clear signs of poor maintenance. The bathroom ventilation fan does not work, there is no key to lock the bathroom door and there is no towel holder available. In the bathroom the metal support of the sink is heavily rusted and deteriorated and the mirror is rusted as well. Another issue concerns payment transparency. At the time of booking a city tax is indicated; however, the host later required an additional payment in order to access the apartment. Initially it was presented as the city tax, but later the host said it was to cover additional PayPal withdrawal costs. These charges were not legitimate and appeared to be an attempt to pass undocumented personal transaction fees on to the guest. In addition, foreign tourists paying with a credit card in Argentina are entitled to VAT exemption for accommodation, but this was not recognized. While I was writing this review, the host sent me a message threatening to charge my credit card if I did not delete the review. I have kept the message and reported this behaviour to Booking. Cleanliness was also below the standard expected for a rental property. There was visible dust on the bed headboard and on the TV cabinet (I documented this with photos). Other inconveniences include: the sofa is very old and extremely uncomfortable to sit on the towels provided are extremely small and worn the light in the living room flickers continuously For these reasons, unfortunately I cannot recommend this property.
