SAXX Apartments Hagen

When I got there I realised I was on the top floor, no lift. I'm 64 and those stairs, omg. So I called the reception (which is in another but close by location) I explained my situation, and they said they would fix it, but probably not until Monday. So on Monday I was given another apartment on the 1st floor and I was so happy. I was staying here for 40 days so something closer to the ground floor is better for me. I had a friend stay with me for 1 week but I stayed the rest of the time by myself. The location was perfect, I worked out the bus timetable and how to get everywhere on public transport. This apartment had everything I could possibly need. It was spacious, modern, and I could also use the washing and drying machines downstairs. The area I was in had plenty of cafes and eateries, and a brilliant little market on a Friday, in the square, it had a lively culture, and I made some lovely acquaintances. I happened to be there for Springefest which was a brilliant 3 days of music, eating and drinking. Hagen is not a tourist destination, but it should be. I was able to get to so many other cities for the day from there with public transport, within only an hour or 2. The staff are so nice and helpful, nothing was too difficult. I could honestly live there, I loved it, and I will be booking it again for next year.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The check-in is done at the SAXX Hotel, where the staff was super friendly. The explained me how to reach the apartment and all the additional info regarding my stay. The apartment in Goldbergstr. is located just few meters away from the city main street. All the kitchen appliances are provided and all the rooms are bright and spacious. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine for guests in the basement and a drying room on the first floor.

WiFi quality was okay but low in some rooms (eg. kitchen). The shower needs most probably a decalcification as it was shooting water in all the directions except above my head. It would be nice to have a coffee capsule for each day of the stay, especially for short stays (I stayed three nights and only two capsule were there).

bad Internet connection. Not stable. The problem is solved by buying a wire in a store (if you have a laptop)
