The Residence by Atholl Arms

Large comfortable room with fantastic dual aspect views right in the heart of Dunkeld.

Emptying the glass bins at 7am was an 'eye opener' on Friday morning.

The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed overlooking the street outside and people watching. We also had a view of the river Tay and the distant hills which was beautiful

The food service was, at best, average. After arriving we decided to eat at The Atholl Arms Annexe, across the road, Azura, we were asked to order via a QR code to its app, which we duly did. We ordered starters and a main course each. We waited perhaps 20 minutes or so for the dishes to arrive but when they did so, all 4 dishes comprising our order, came together. We asked to have the starters first and the main course dishes put to one side. We were told that fresh ones would be prepared, but when we were ready for them, it was clear that was not the case as they were both lukewarm. For a business that touts itself as 4-star accommodation, it's inconceivable that those on the kitchen don't understand starter courses from main courses. However, this was more or less, the explanation provided. Breakfast was included in the price of our accommodation, but we found the hot dishes we ordered, were over done and not particularly tasty. From our experience, there seems to be a lot of work necessary in the kitchen and in the food service. We enjoyed our stay, but would think twice about booking again.
