We are situated at the base of the slopes where you can ski, return home and return back to the slopes to ski again if your pass allows. Also our home is a great central location for all members of your family to congregate and enjoy the cozy fireplace while the skiers are off on the slopes. It is like having your very own lodge at the base of the mountain! Our home is located just a 20 minute drive on Route 296 to the entrance to Windham Mountain. Ski Windham is operating on a revised social distancing schedule this year with restricted capacity on the mountain. Their calendar follows a red (restricted) and green (non-restricted) day capacity system. Ikon passes are also available for advance purchase. Visit the Windham Mountain website for more information. Guests have access to the entire home during their stay, with the exception of a few closets that are locked for owner's storage items and the basement storage space. While a guest at our home we ask that you keep household garbage separate from plastic and cardboard. We have a large garbage bin at the end of our driveway where you can place your separated garbage for pick up. Town garbage bags are provided. Bulk or excessive garbage can be brought to the town waste station for disposal. Wake up and you are right where you want to be - less than a five minute walk or one minute car ride to the Hunter Mountain ski slopes. You will be the first one on the slopes when you stay at our home. Windham Mountain is also just a quick 20 minute car ride on Route 296. In festival season and just in time for the new Trailblazer Music Festival, the walk to the Hunter base lodge could not be easier. Hiking is known to draw many to the area and trails range from easy to very difficult. Some well known trails include Kaaterskill Falls, Huckleberry Trail, The Windham Path, Escarpment Trail, trails at North and South Lake, and Devils Tombstone just to list a few. Check out the vibe in Tannersville while browsing the colorful shops or grab a bite to eat in one of the delicious restaurants in town. Don’t miss a chance to visit the town of Windham where you will find the Country Store on Route 23 and stop in the best Italian market on the mountaintop Todaro’s. Check out the new coffee shop Fellows in Hunter, grab a beer and a pretzel at our very own German restaurant Jagerberg Beer Hall and Tavern or pick up a dozen hot fresh bagels from the bagel store in town for a morning feast in your own kitchen. Our home is situated so that you have just enough privacy but convenience to all that Hunter Mountain has to offer. Grab a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise over the mountain before you start your busy day! A car is recommended, but there are local taxi services and a Trailways bus leaves from the New York City Port Authority and stops on Route 23A/Main Street in Hunter, NY. It is a short 1/2 mile walk up hill to the house. The house is within walking distance to the Hunter Mountain base lodge, Dolan's Lake and the town of Hunter. Rustic House, Close to the Slopes
Rustic House, Close to the Slopes
Perfect home for our family (2 adults, 2 kids) ski trip in February. It is a older, rustic house but well maintained and very clean. You get plenty of dishes and towels. Cozy fireplace and couch in the living room and amazing outside deck. The house is on a quite street close to the base station. At the end of the road you can directly access the slopes of Hunter North! However we preferred to drop off as it could be a challenging walk for kids in ski boots. The owner communicates proactively and is very responsive to questions.
