We are so excited to share this house with you! We have made sure it is stocked with everything you need for an enjoyable stay in Cripple Creek. This original log cabin survived the great fire of 1896 as did the unrestored cabin in the back yard. Bishops cabin has been renovated through the years and now offers 21st century amenities in a cozy rustic setting. Beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture and great new beds. Within walking distance to downtown Cripple Creek, enjoy the Butte Theater Opera House and unique shopping experiences, restaurants, gambling and Museums. Take a tour of the fabled Mollie Kathleen Gold mine, a train ride back in history or tour active Gold mining operation which stilll produces millions of dollars worth of gold every year, located just 6 miles near historic Victor Colorado. You and your kids will love feeding our herd of friendly donkeys descendants of the original “Rocky Mountain Canaries” which worked the mines at the turn of the century. We are also close to fishing, hiking, biking trails, skiing and snowshoeing! There are many activities and festivities for the entire family to enjoy throughout the year. Ice festival, Donkey Derby Days, Fireworks, Rodeo, Veterans Motorcycle Rally, madam Pearl Devere Day, Art, Gem and Mineral shows, Fall Festival, Ghostly gathering, and Gold camp Christmas. And all just within walking distance. City Shuttle is also available with Grocery store, liquor store and gas station near by.

This was a fantastic cabin conveniently located within walking distance to the Butte Theater and downtown Cripple Creek. We enjoyed everything about our stay: the new, clean furnishings, comfortable beds, plethora of blankets and other nice touches, the fully equipped kitchen, and, of course, the hot tub. Deb and Stanley, the owners, were super nice and accommodating, and had the place all decked out for Christmas. Definitely one of our favorite Vrbo properties of all-time and certainly the nicest place we've ever stayed in Cripple Creek.

This home is in a great location for all of your adventures. The host is so helpful with recommendations from hiking to restaurants. The home is clean and well stocked for cooking. The back porch and hot tub provide a wonderful area to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

My husband grew up in Colorado Springs and has been dying to bring my parents to Melodrama for years! I am delighted that we found this place! First of all, the home is immaculate and adorable (I really appreciate homes that, like ours, ask for no shoes past the front door!). The beds were super comfy (We used just the bedrooms). The kitchen was *well* stocked -- as in, I would go look for something doubting they would have the utensil/appliance etc. and it was there! We made breakfast one morning. We brought our 2 year old. He slept in the king sized bed with us, but there is room for a packnplay. While the place isn't intentionally little kid friendly, we moved a few decorative items to higher ground and it was just fine (we brought a little folding step stool). We did not use the washer/dryer, the sofa bed, or sadly the patio (including the hot tub and grill). But that just means we'll have to do that when we return. Cripple Creek is an adorable little town and we didn't get it all done somehow (we took in the Melodrama, our son got a personal tour of the fire engines, we did the train tour, we saw Rita the Rock Planter troll). This home's location was perfect for walking to the main strip (we saw donkeys)! but also far enough away that there wasn't late night noise from the casinos. Debbie was a perfect hostess, delightful, a great resource, and quick to respond. Truly perfect, and we can't wait to come back.

Quiet, restful location with nature all around. Two Mama Deer and their twins would visit daily. The Donkeys would also stop by. The wildlife in the area was spectacular. We were never without something fun to do. And, the property was ideal for a mountain getaway. We will definitely tell our friends to book this home.

This is the best place to stay in Cripple Creek!! Stan and Debbie are great at communicating and really make sure that you are comfortable and feel at home.
By far the cleanest and best kept property we have stayed at when visiting Cripple Creek and we will make sure wehen we return to stay here again!!!

This is a beautiful, convenient location for a stay in the Cripple Creek area. Everything about this property exudes pride in ownership. Even the sofa sleeper was quite comfortable, and the outdoor patio and hot tub were a great place to relax. I highly recommend this rental!

From the moment we walked in we were in amazement of this beautiful cabin, it is one of the best VRBO rentals we have ever had…sparkling clean, great yard and hot tub with personal touches that add to the beauty of the structure itself. Stanley and Debbie were wonderful hosts, checking in to make sure everything was well with us. Cripple Creek is a lovely setting surrounded by hills…we enjoyed the donkeys, the Butte Theatre, the train ride, the museums and visited a couple of the casinos. Thank You for hosting us Stanley and Debbie and hope to see you in Canada or Cripple Creek in the future.

Took my grandma and 4 of her sisters to celebrate her 79th birthday and they absolutely loved the cabin! It was so clean, cozy and absolutely breathtaking Inside and out! The pictures do not do it justice! Debbie was so welcoming and surprised my grandma and her sisters with a birthday banner and birthday tiaras for them all! It was so kind and thoughtful and my great aunts and grandma were so surprised and loved it! Definitely looking forward to going back again!

Best place we’ve stayed. Wonderful decorations, warm and cozy rooms, beautiful and comfortable beds and furniture. Pellet stove is a nice touch and provides plenty of warmth. Deck, BBQ, fire pit, hot tub and a 125 year old unrestored miners cabin are in the fenced backyard. Views of the valley and surrounding mountains are stunning. Was very hard to leave, but we will return for sure. Also the owners are very nice and accommodating. Plus there is the occasional group of Donkeys that roam the area looking for carrots and oranges.

We decided to go away for Mother’s Day, 4 ladies. It was just want we needed. Not only was the house amazing but Debbie was so caring and kept in contact with us. It We will be back for sure. Only thing I would add is in the winter or storms maybe a dvd player and some movies so you could at least watch something when stuck inside.

This cabin is so quaint and absolutely beautiful. It slept six perfectly and had enough space for all of us. Decorated beautifully - my parents want to live there! The hot tub was extremely clean and the perfect temperature. Debbie and Stanley were the best hosts and responsive with any questions about places to see or eat or do! Great place- the deer were right outside the window! The place looks small from the outside but that is deceiving -it is very warm and welcoming inside.

We went up with another couple for a quick getaway. We will definitely be booking this again. The home was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, also they provided lots on info on things to do why we were there.

Our family of 6 came up from Austin for a white Christmas, and some cold weather. Before even getting to the property I was in contact with Stanley and Deb trying to find Christmas Eve services and checking on the weather. Not only did they answer my questions, but were the most communicative host I've ever had at a vacation rental. Anything at all that my family needed or might need they were checking on... sleds, where to feed the donkeys, here's how to get the ice skating rink, here's how to contact the churches for Christmas Eve... They were genuinely the most hospitable host of anywhere we've ever been. When we arrived the house was decorated inside and out for Christmas, with a beautiful tree, and a gingerbread set ready to be decorated.
Now to the house... we all know pictures are magical, but reality is usually a bit of a let down. Not this house, it was immaculately cleaned, the style is wonderful, the atmosphere is friendly, the house is open, the kitchen and rooms are WELL stocked; in short its even nicer than the pictures. It exceeded my expectations as did Stanley and Deb. We loved it and loved them, for the price it was by far the nicest and cleanest house we've ever stayed in, and the hot tub was a bonus (especially with a few drinks)!!!
I gave everything 5 stars except the location, let me explain. I've never been to Cripple Creek, and did almost no research. I wasn't aware that it was a casino town and have no desire to gamble. That being said we were a little disappointed to see the casinos take over what was otherwise a cute old Colorado town full of history. We did have a great time eating at "The Creek," and I LOVED running on the trail over looking the mountains by the park just outside of town, feeding the donkeys, and the friendliness of the town. There's so much to do in Winterpark, Manitou Springs, and Colorado Springs, that we would've stayed anyway, it just would have been nicer without the casinos.

The home was very warm, clean, updated, and the perfect size for us to enjoy playing games in the family room or snuggling to watch a show in the living room. This was by far the best rental I've had to date!

This house was the absolute best home we have ever stayed in as a VRBO or Air B&B! It was just absolutely adorable. Just so comfortable and accommodating and so beautifully decorated. The added bonus to this home was the hot tub! So relaxing and fun. We enjoyed the 10 degree weather and the beautiful snowy, picturesque views while submerged in warmth. Truly the most delightful stay! Our hosts were amazing; so friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be staying again every time we are in Cripple Creek!

This house is so tastefully decorated, and the owners have thought of every single thing that renters might want or need during their stay. It's much bigger and nicer than I expected! (Pictures are deceiving) Deb & Stanley were incredible hosts who made sure they were available for anything; yet left us alone to enjoy our vacation. I can't think of a single negative to say about our rental experience; will rent there again if I'm in the area and would recommend it to anyone planning to visit Cripple Creek! LOVED IT!!!
