About this bed and breakfast

9 min to Sunapee. The Lavender Room is one of 10 rooms in the historic Brook Road Inn. The rooms are rustic, in the building's historic style, and the Lavender Room offers a Queen bed for two and a private bath. The door locks from the inside and outside for privacy and safety. The room is located up a narrow staircase and shares a hall with 8 other guest rooms. This is a nonsmoking property. This room has one power outlet and no power outlet in bathroom. The inn was built in 1837. Recently all of the rooms have been renovated to preserve the inns original farmhouse character. There is a shared area with fridge, toaster, and microwave. Although there is 24/7 video surveillance, staff isn’t on the property at all times. Guests must be comfortable being self-sufficient from check-in to check-out. During the warm season enjoy the deck, equipped with a grill.

Very clean and easy to “self check in”. It is a nice setting too. We felt safe. The bed, for me was very hard and the pillows were more like morning pancakes. The pillows really need to be replaced. I did not sleep well. Over all a nice place.

We were looking for a place to stay for 1 night so we didn’t have to drive home late from a family event. It fit the bill. Self checkin & clean. We were in the lavender room which is at the top of the stairs. The room is not sound proofed so you can hear everything in the hallway and through the walls. No security lock on the room door inside, which is a little unnerving. Overall it met our needs.

I love this place - the only issue was the heater in the room would not regulate - it was a steady 79 degrees no matter how much we tried to lower the thermostat. We followed instructions but we could not lower it
