Compact space, en suite bathroom.
Staff demanding cash payment for my stay. Noisy corridor with light shining into my room all night. I had to insist on breakfast but they fetched from local cafe, and sitting with plate on my knee was not pleasant.

I could leave the hotel freely in the early morning (gates unlocked)
Good location: walking distance to Marina, temple…20 min drive to station… the main point for me personally: it is near a friend’s place
restaurants and tuctucs readily available
Taxi driver and I couldn’t find the hotel easily and it was difficult to find a number to call for instructions, the number I found gave an error reply and when I reached the central of fab hotels I was told that I needed to book first… all that while taxi meter was running… that was stressful !
Anyway, I was very happy to finally arrive and meet friendly and polite reception.
While I believe routine cleaning was done (washed bed sheets, sweeping of floor), I had to call staff to sweep and mop under the bed…
the heavy duvet which I took out of the bed cover because it was too hot for me, showed a big stain of dried blood. I packed it into the cupboard - a mini cupboard in which I wouldn’t want to store my clothes
I was bothered by the 24 hour light shining into the room from the corridor (despite a curtain), yet I slept ok with an eye-blinding which I had with me…
The seat of the toilet was loose to the point of coming off
