The location was incredible. We could see the cathedral from our terrace and it was an easy walk to everywhere in the old city. The apartment has been renovated and is beautifully decorated and appointed. It has everything you could possibly need. The private rooftop terrace is exceptional as well!
The coffee machine was unfortunately broken and the bed was 2 singles pushed together with individual sheets and a blanket over the whole bed. It was unusual and as a couple we would prefer it was made as one double bed. A minor issue given how wonderful the apartment is.

Everything. Location, wonderful spacious apartment, air-conditioning, balcony and view of the cathedral. There are stairs to your own private balcony. Dennis is an excellent host.

The location was great. The AC works perfectly but, the appartment stays cool even without the AC on. I shut it off during the day when I was out (or when I was sleeping) and the appartment was still cool when I came home - even though the temperature outside was 40°. I the appliances were new. The bathroom was spacious, had toiletries and there were plenty of nice thick towels. There was good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There were very clear instructions for using the washing machine which I greatly appreciated. The appartment was clean and the building was very quiet. I loved sipping coffee on the patio in the morning. Bruno replied quickly to texts and sent good pictures and videos that described how to enter the building and use the keys. I got a sense that the owners want to provide a nice experience for the people staying at the appartment.
The appartment is very well cared for BUT both beds smelled like body odor. This is the only reason the appartment doesn't get 10/10. I slept in the livingroom because that bed smelled less. I don't know if it was the mattress, the pillow, the bedding or a combination of the three. This is a shame because the rest of the appartment (and the building as a whole) is so nice. I placed a bath towel over the pillow to sleep because the body odor smell made me not want to place my head on the pillow. As I said before, this is such a shame because the appartment is absolutely lovely and well cared for in every other aspect.
There were also two cameras: one in the livingroom and one in the hall between the bedroom and the bathroom.
There were few small items that I felt should be included such as soap for the washing machine. I asked about this and was told that they don't provide laundry soap. There were no pods for coffee. There was no drying rack (that I could find) nor were there clothes pins for the line on the roof. There is a grocery store very close so I bought laundry detergent (which I left for the next person) and coffee pods. I had a few clothes pins from home and made due.

Manager met us right on time. The location was excellent - near the cathedral on a very quiet street - best thing about the apartment. The manager responded quickly when we thought the washing machine was broken which was appreciated. It was a big space and the living room furnishings were in good condition as was the kitchen and bathroom. The apartment was clean.
EDIT 2 - the 180 Euro damage fee disappeared after we filed a formal complaint with photos with Booking.com. If you read the owner’s response you’ll see he never addresses the most serious problems - broken door, unusable terrace we paid for, uncomfortable beds. Instead he comes up with a few minor problems and uses AGEISM to blame us for being unhappy. We are not unsavy tech users by any means and the problems with the flat we noted were not related to technology issues. They’re problems anyone of any age might have had.
EDIT 1. A COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED WE WERE NOTIFIED BY BOOKING.COM THAT THE OWNERS CLAIM WE DID 180 EUROS WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE FLAT. SINCE WE LEFT MORE THAN SIX DAYS AGO THE TIMING OF THIS DAMAGE CLAIM IS CLEARY TIED TO THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW WHICH HAS MY NAME ATTACHED TO IT. WE HAVE TIME STAMPED PHOTOS OF THE FLAT AS WE LEFT IT. WE WILL WIRK THROUGH THIS, BUT ARE THESE FOLKS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH? WILL EDIT LATER WITH OUTCOME. The apartment was clean and kitchen well furnished but general maintenance and thoughtfulness were lacking in many small and larger ways. The inside door lock handle was missing (!) and the building manager only fixed it after we asked him too. Getting back into the flat always felt like a crapshoot. The private rooftop terrace that comes with the flat was such a mess that the manager locked it after showing it to us. So that’s not really part of what you’re paying for! Folks with ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITIES BEWARE - After he left we both started to get headaches from a powerful chemical floral oder throughout the apartment, not a problem we typically have. We found 3 individual, 3 column oil diffusers plugged into various socket that we dismantled. It took over a day for the smell to dissipate. The mattress and bedding were uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The towels were threadbare. For us the flat was just not relaxing or enjoyable to be in.
