About this house rental
The Saunder Inn is a private home located just16 miles west of Legends area and 13 miles north east of Lawrence. The property rests on 20 beautiful acres, paved roads, tons of privacy and a fabulous view! The home is fully stocked to meet all your needs including a washer/dryer, full kitchen, and the ability to sleep eight comfortably. There is plenty of front porch seating as well as a large back patio with a grill.,

We were looking for a quiet and inviting place for a planning retreat. This provided exactly what we needed. Time on the covered porch during a soft shower was most relaxing between sessions. The comfortable and spacious living room was perfect for conversing in the evening and the large table in the dinning room was quite efficient for our collaborative planning all day long. If it did not rain most of the day, the back porch would have been equally efficient for collaboration. Definitely would return again.

Such a charming and fun home. Loved the porch! Loved all the televisions. Loved the decorations. We went to Nascar and the drive was excellent!!!

I will admit, the property is long on charm and in a great location. However, as a partially disabled person, it was very difficult for me having bathroom and bedroom upstairs.
We found some of the decor off-putting, such as the demon baby in the outdoor swing. (Not child friendly!)
Dishes and cookware are adequate. Pantry items are sparse. It rained while we were here, and the incessant droning of the sump pump was a distraction.
Having laundry facilities is a plus.
Our check-in process was not great. We never did receive check-in instructions on the VRBO site, as we have with previous rentals. I messaged the owner the morning of our trip, and she messaged me back the code. When we finally arrived (after being misdirected by Google Maps) we could not open the door. I called the owner twice, only to reach the answering machine. She called back within a reasonable time, but it was long enough to cause weary travellers to wonder if we would have to spend the night outside. Further instructions were given and access attained.
If you enjoy antiques and quirky decor, and you do not mind running up and down a creaky staircase every little bit, perhaps this is your place.
