Room was great and clean. Breakfast was excellent with breads, ham, cheeses, eggs juice and yogurt. Flexible entry given a code to use at the door. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Parking was a little bit further away than we expected but not bad and we were grateful for a place to park our car

The room and bathroom were very nice! The location is a manageable pleasant 20 minutes walk into the historic centre of town. Free parking a bit further up the road a plus.
We asked for a quiet room. Given a major road / bridge construction in front, that could never be on the road where our room was located. It had neither been read or acknowledged! Communication was poor.

An easy walk to the old town. Lovely breakfast. Super clean and comfortable room. Very easy management of booking with excellent communication.
This is not a fault of the property as it’s not their fault the main bridge is being repaired but it interrupted good sleep - good news is the new bridge will be up eventually!

We stayed at Penzion Golden Crown for 2 nights recently in an “Economy Double Room”. It is difficult to envision how a room is by looking at a few pictures and a very limited description. Also, as none of the earlier reviews were detailed enough, some of the aspects of the room took us by surprise. Hence this detailed review, so you can make the right choice of room should you decide to stay here.
Location: The B&B is located 10 mins away from the town square in a relatively quiet location. The main road is just across, so there is noise of vehicles passing by during the night time as well as people walking on the street below.
Check-in & Check-out: Very easy
Reception: Staffed by a young lady in the morning & from 2pm-4pm for new arrivals. Entry passcode provided if you arrive later.
Room: Our Economy Double was on the first floor facing the side street. The room size was very small and we were barely able to place our luggage within the room. If you have just a strolley (that is cabin baggage) you may be able to manage, but if you are on a longer trip with a suitcase + hand baggage per person, then it is extremely difficult to move around, as space is extremely limited. One side of the bed is placed snug against the wall with a window, that leaves just one way to get to the bed. To add to the issue, the roof is slanting (similar to how attic rooms are) and the placement of the bed is such that it was impossible to get in without banging your head against the slanting (attic) ceiling. The only way we could avoid getting temporary souvenirs on our head (read that as bumps) was to sleep the other way round by moving the pillows to the other end of the bed. We found the lighting to be inadequate and the closet was very small as well. Also, there was no kettle for hot water & condiments for tea / coffee in the room, which were provided at other B&B’s during our trip.
