Pool and outdoor area was nice. Rooms were well-sized and well-ventilated and cool. Kitchen was well-equipped.
Context: we're not tourists on holiday from abroad. We're a Maltese family who have often come to Gozo for weekends breaks.
1. The location. Not kercem itself - just the fact that It's at the end of a narrow alley leading onto a dirt road into some fields. Not really accessible by car. If you've got stuff or shopping to carry, a pram, or have mobility issues, not great.
2. The layout of the place is not comfortable. The ground floor has a sofa, TV, a bedroom, and the pool area. Then there's a metal spiral staircase, which is not practical for the elderly, infants, or anyone with mobility issues. This leads up to a second bedroom, and a further outdoor terrace and more steps lead up to the kitchen, which also has an indoor and outdoor dining area and a TV and sofabed. The sofabed seemed broken and couldn't easily be folded up. We didn't fold it for fear of breaking it.
While the layout and all the above is adequately explained on the listing (they're not necessarily misrepresenting the place), you don't quite appreciate how annoying it is until you're actually there.
The most annoying thing is having to go up the spiral staircase and even more steps to get anything to and from the kitchen when using the BBQ, or when using the both the oven, hob and BBQ simultaneously. I would have kept the kitchen and living\dining downstairs, and kept the uppermost floor as a third bedroom. That makes most sense.
3. Again, while well advertised, the fact that the air-conditioning requires you to put cash into a machine to be used is annoying and feels childish.

pool is nice. from the balconies there’s a nice view of the country side
After booking and paying for the staying you are informed that you also need make a security deposit.
Around the property you will find signs with somewhat weird rules and threatening statements, like if you don’t take the garbage out you will be fined. I found this a bit stressful
