This was one of my last stops on an 80-day, around-the-world trip. Nice and quiet place to relax after a lot of long travel. Walking to get groceries is a bit of an ordeal, but still doable and you get some gorgeous scenery. No microwave, but the stove top made soups and breakfasts much easier than most hotel microwaves. Do need a bit of agility to get into the loft, but the skylight has quite the view and is very good for stargazing if the weather is good. The Taylor’s Mistake trail is right around the corner.

Was a cute tiny house in between Sumner and Taylors Mistake.Commfortable bed on mezzanine with ladder access. If you're not very agile - this isnt for you. Lots of great walks in the area with good cafes

Hamish and Ronene were the most lovely hosts and truly made my experience beyond special. Not only was their hospitality exceptional, their tiny home was designed with the utmost care and perfectly overlooks the ocean. I was impressed with how spacious the tiny home was and I thoroughly enjoyed the warm and cosy interior, such a magical space! The tiny home property is right in the middle of some of the most stunning trails that lead to Taylors Mistake Beach as well as Scarborough beach. My long stay there surpassed any of my expectations because of the special care that Hamish and Ronene constantly showed alongside the welcoming home environment that they so effortlessly cultivated. If you ever want to truly experience a peaceful nature environment with some of the most genuine humans then this is the place to be, thank you so much Hamish and Ronene for being the absolute best!

Hamish is very welcoming. The tiny house is very cozy and comfortable. For sure if the weather is nice, it would be great to go for a walk.

We really enjoyed our stay. The tiny house was very cute, tidy and had a nice view onto the ocean. It was a bit cold a more powerful heater would’ve been better ;) Hamish was a friendly host and knowledgeable about the area.

We had an amazing stay in this charming kohanga. The views were so beautiful and the inside was toasty even in winter! It's close to so many walks and the town isn't far at all. 10/10 I could not recommend it more.

I didnt spend alot of time at the property but the time spent there i have no complaints at all. Lovely host. The place was clean & tidy. Would highly recommend.

I had chosen this property because of its tranquil nature but what I experienced outweighed any of the photos or the description. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tiny house in Sumner. The location was perfect for us with a beautiful beach nearby and small shopping area. Lyttelton is not far away and worth a visit and it’s an easy drive to Christchurch. Our host was welcoming and friendly, we had all we needed.

Hamish’s little hut was ideal accomodation for our visit to Christchurch. With a very comfortable bed up in the loft, it was cosy to snuggle into each night after a fun day out. We had access to multiple walks in the area each morning just by walking out the front gate and then returned to have breakfast on the deck in the peaceful back garden. Hamish gave precise advice prior to our visit regarding access, parking etc. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

Fantastic little spot on top of the world. The loft bed is somewhat difficult to access so not for anyone who is not agile but otherwise difficult to fault. Hosts were absolutely lovely!

We enjoyed our stay in this cleverly designed tiny home, and loved hanging out in the backyard listening to the birds and soaking in the quiet nature after our long flights. It's tricky getting up into and out of the loft, so this property is best suited to nimble travelers. This was the only place we stayed that didn't supply coffee, which would be a nice touch. Also, I recommend swapping out the shower head to a hand held style, since it is so tiny and tricky to aim the shower without flooding the bathroom.

This is a really excellent place to stay and beautifully located. I stayed for a couple of weeks and found the tiny house just perfect and comfy. A really nice place to relax and with beautiful walks down to the Bay or Taylor's Mistake just outside the property.

It was everything I thought it would be. Was a nice we place to stay in, very cosy. Easily accessible. Very happy with how it looked and how we were welcomed

Great wee tiny house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to walkways and plenty to do. Only downside is that the ocean view can only be seen through windows on far side of house. But beautiful and even saw some paragliders.
