Fawlty Towers

The staff

Possibly the worse value for money hotel I've stayed in. 1. Location wrong 2. No TV in room 3. Bathroom flooded each day 4. Kids club not open I could go on. The owner said he didn't expect so many guests. 1. Stop excepting them 2. Offer affected guests refunds. Very very poor. The hard working staff sare the place. Managment disgraceful.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great pool. Special thanks to Georgia from reception for helping us to arrange last minute transfer.

Don’t expect super breakfast here. For some reason workers repaired lanes in high season. Rooms interior needs to be refreshed.

Excellent deal!

We found a special offer for this hotel and paid 30 euros / night for two people with breakfast included. We believe that this was an amazing deal for such a good hotel. The rooms were big, clean, with terrace with a fantastic view at the sea. The hotel had a swimming pool, free parking and was also a short walk from the village center, beach, shops etc.

overall a good stay! good and not so good parts! great value for money!

the reception ladies were lovely! all the staff were! pool was AMAZING! good location!

didn’t realise how far away from Heraklion the hotel was! at least 2 hours by car! unfortunately we had ants in our room - I spoke to receptionist but nothing was done.

Seemingly called Almyrida Bay Hotel

I booked this for two friends just for a night before departing from airport. They said the room was lovely and suitable.

The name was different to what was stated and it caused a lot of stress to find it. Breakfast was meant to be included, but my friends had to leave too early for it. Staff was quite unfriendly when they asked for morning tea. Somehow communication was obviously disturbed. When i rang a day later i was also spoken to in an impolite manner.

Great location, clean, helpful reception staff. DO NOT go All inclusive!!

Staff was very helpful, receptionist gave us a lot of tips of what to do and see.

Food! We upgraded to All inclusive and that was very very disappointing! No variety, no soft drinks for kids, in fact only drinks available was water, and black tea. After complaining to the restaurant manager we got orange juice for kids. No snacks available, manager said to ask kitchen. ..when we asked kitchen said NO snacks. Breakfast was OK, but the same every day. Lunch was the worst part, some days it was only either pasta or rice.. With no meat or fish.. Dinner was probably the best of all as it had variety of two dishes, plus salads. No entertainment at all, no music, no fun. Man at the bar was extremely rude, he was drunk at nights . Take breakfast only and explore the area

Great stay

We were flying in late to Chania and booked here one night because it has 24-hour reception and easy parking. Not expecting anything and yet surprisingly pleasant. Large room with private terrasse, clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast was as good as it gets, very satisfying. Check-out at 12 so we had time for a quick swim, the pool is great. The best part was the hotel personell, very helpful and nice in a natural way.

An excellent hotel overall. the location of the hotel/ views/ pool are….. all terrific.

The view from my room was second to none in this area……stunning panoramic views of the whole bay. Swimming pool is top class. Very spacious area around hotel with lovely gardens. spacious room with balcony. Peaceful and quiet hotel…… ideal for a relaxing holiday.

I missed tea or coffee making facilities in the room. But there was a fridge which was good.

Nice hotel but is neglected

Staff is really kind! Really close to city center, 5 minute by foot. Very big nice pool with pool bar.

The hotel is really nice and has potential but is neglected. We found towels and bed sheet dirty. The air condition has few setting, so is difficult to reach ideal temperature and is impossible to sleep with window open because missing mosquito net and more than one time we found some flies and bees in out room. The breakfast could be better..

Relaxing poolside stay

The staff were always friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is wonderful and never too busy, always plenty of loungers. Breakfast was very good. Ideal location!

Room 223, the shower pressure was terrible and the shower head was not very well attached. We usually did not get a hand towel, but a bath mat to use as a towel.

I was only there for a week and it was absolutely fabulous. It is a fantastic location.

I stayed in an apartment. It was lovely. It was less than 100 metres from the beach. The apartment was small and perfect for my requirements. It was well laid out and everything just worked. The bed was really comfortable. The curtains could have been a bit thicker as they let too much of the morning sunlight in. The beach was okay but the restaurants and ambience along the beach was beautiful. Great food and great choice in a relatively compact location.

A really pretty vibrant location. The sea was lovely. The beach however was relatively narrow. Probably on average only about 5 metres and so it did feel a little crowded at times. The bedroom had a fan and no air conditioning. I would have liked air-conditioning there.

I loved this hotel. It was calm and very well located and my family and I had the choice to either spend the day at the swimming pool or walk to the nearby beach or just drive to Chania or Rethymno beaches. I also loved the personnel working at the breakfast and reception. Very accommodating to all our needs, they tried to make sure that we are having a good time. THANK YOU!!!

After a year and a half of lockdown, when the hotels have remained closed and no maintenance has been performed, hotel guests have to be more understanding and not come up with irrational demands expecting the hotel to act like it is five stars. I have witnessed rude and irrational guest behaviour from many of the guests during our stay there and I was shocked with the low respect others have towards the hard working personnel at the hotel. Shame. Some people should really look into their manners and have a more a more understanding approach towards those who serve them but they are not servants.

It’s a 3 Star Hotel

It is a very pretty collection of buildings and some love was once put into the creation of the property

The pool is missing tiles all over the bottom and the swim up isn’t really a swim up bar with very staff around - Pics a bit misleading. There was a weird vibe around the dining area and bar with little atmosphere.

Brilliant week!

The property is very well located, only a 5/10 minute walk out of the Almirida town, the hotel is big, with a huge pool at the front, suitable for all ages. The rooms were lovely and big, with a stunning view from all of the balconies!

The breakfast could have been a bit better! More pastries & cereal options.

Everything, but the friendliness of staff and added extras like giving you pool access and shower access the whole day after you check out really put it over the top. (And the price which was about 1/3-1/2 of others)

The persons I was staying with. lol! But I liked it so much I stayed an extra night alone!
