About this house rental
Situated in Milton, this charming house for $642 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. The ultimate in privacy on your own peninsula. Renovated Mid-Century Modern lake house (called the "Duck Blind") with all of the amenities for your family's vacation. The house if perfectly set up for two sets of adults in the upper floor bedrooms and kids in the downstairs bunk room. Upstairs you will find, in addition to the two bedrooms, one full and one half bath, a chefs kitchen that opens up to a screened-in porch through three retractible glass doors with views of the boat dock, perfect for indoor/outdoor living. There's, a custom vermonter-made dining table that seats 10 comfortably, and a living area that opens onto the enormous deck with endless views of Malletts Bay. Downstairs, is a recreation area with a pool table, fireplace and couches for watching DVDs on the flatscreen TV, or playing board games on the large ottoman. The bunk room on the lower level sleeps 6. Summer: Bring your boat as the property includes a 50' dock (with mooring whips for 2 boats) located in a private cove. Also included are 2 paddle boards, 4 kayaks and a canoe. Air conditioning, in addition to the ceiling fans in the upstair bedrooms and living rooms as well as the multiple sliding glass doors will keep your group cool in the summer heat. Fall: located on 7 private acres with endless views of the lake and front row seat to the spectacular colors of the changing leaves and stunning sunsets. Winter: when the lake freezes over there is ice skating, snow shoeing and cross country skiing just out your front door. Several major Vermont ski resorts are located within 80 minutes of the house including Smugglers Notch (50 mins); Mad River Glen (66 mins); Stowe (68 mins); Sugarbush (75 mins); and Jay Peak (80 mins). Three-zone heating and two fireplaces will keep your group cozy when it's cold outside. Other amenities include access to an outdoor Basketball Court, located a short walk from the house, close proximity to Niquette State Park (5 mins driving) with miles of hiking trails, as well as nearby Burlington (20 mins) with its many restaurants and shops. POLICIES - No smoking - Must be at least 30 years old to book - No events, parties and large gatherings permitted in this property. Additional fines will be assessed if evidence of an event is found - Pets must be approved in advance

Beautiful, isolated location, with water on 3 sides, where you can sit quietly on the large outdoor deck and listen to the waves bumping into the rocks. Walk down the long driveway, along peaceful farmland, for an easy hike in the woods. And all this is not far from the great restaurants and biking in nearby Burlington.

This home is perfect for rest and relaxation. It's far away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city or neighborhood. We had plenty of laughs and the views are to die for.

A beautiful and spacious home with amazing sunset views over Lake Champlain. The house has a wonderful kitchen and comfy beds. We loved the screened in porch and the wrap around deck. The property is private and secluded but also close to everything we wanted to see in the area. The islands and the ferry to NY are easily accessible.

We had such a beautiful weekend away at DuckBlind! The property is gorgeous and Ian was very responsive when we had questions. I would highly recommend this property to enjoy all that Lake Champlain and Burlington has to offer!

When we were finally able to get to the property (gps takes you the wrong way, owner warned us of this) we were instanty in awe the pictures dont give the place justice, its a beautiful property nestled right on the water. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is looking for a lake house getaway.

We had a wonderful time at Duck Blind. The home is beautiful, spacious, and well appointed. It offers amazing views over the bay and feels secluded, while still being accessible to downtown Burlington. Its proximity to Niquette Bay State Park allowed for excellent winter hiking. We hope to return!

The tranquility of DuckBlind is indescribable. Views from every corner, sunsets of multiple colors , glass like lake and the home has everything you need. We were sad our week was up. The owner was so accessible and kind.

Our family loves Duck Blind. Swimming cove is perfect—shallow for Frisbee, deep for laps. Wonderful paddling. Excellent kitchen. Delightful eat-in screened porch. Ian is a gracious and responsive host.

Duck Blind is … One of a Kind!
In order to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from UVM, we searched for a special spot which reflected the beautiful Lake Champlain area. Duck Blind was absolutely that perfect spot! The changes in weather and sunsets on Malletts Bay at this location are captivating. The house is located off a very unique and beautiful private drive, sits right out on the water, has it’s own cove, and is very secluded. Accommodations were very clean and modern, and the large Kitchen, Family Room, and Dining Room, constantly direct your attention to the outdoors, of the bay and the Lake Champlain islands. We absolutely spent most of our time outside on the wrap around deck. The house has two levels with each offering a large amount of living space, sleeping areas for extra guests, or large families. We also really enjoyed the fire pit and especially that firewood was provided. Ian is a great host, very responsive and accommodating. We absolutely plan to escape NJ, in the future, to return and experience the different seasons, at Duck Blind.

The house has been setup and maintained very thoughtfully. Everything is placed naturally where you’d expect to be and the cleanliness of the place was immaculate. We didn’t get bored for even a minute in the house. There were 2 TVs, lots of books, board games and even an electronic keyboard synthesizer. Even something like the lack of TV in the living room which we thought initially was an inconvenience, turned out to be a great idea! We were able to spend more time chatting with each other than we would have, had there been a TV in the living room. The internet was fast enough for two of my friends to work simultaneously, since they were working for a couple of days. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would love to go back soon!

Lakeside paradise
The house is spare and elegant with walls of windows that bring the outside in. The property is wooded and extremely private. The swimming cove is completely private and idyllic. Many boats to paddle added to the pleasure. The kitchen is well equipped. The host--extremely responsive. We had a magical family gathering.

Perfect getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duck Blind. The house is very large, clean and comfortable and Ian was a wonderful host, immediately available, responsive and accommodating. The property is in a lovely, remote setting and the sunset views were spectacular. It’s an easy drive to Burlington and lots of nearby state parks. Our teens loved exploring the surrounding area and using the pool table. Exactly what we needed. Hope to come back again to enjoy the lake in warmer weather.

Columbus Day Weekend
The house was amazing! Open and modern. The wrap around deck provided great views of the lake and the sunset. Enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards even in mid-October. An incredible location - very private. The 3 teenage girls enjoyed the pool table and the karaoke machine.

Modern upgrades with high end kitchen lots of room we celebrated my sisters 60th with family and friends and had a blast views of the lake are spectacular close to all that Burlington has to offer host was gracious and made sure we had everything we needed we’ll be back
