Situated in Lake Placid, this lovely house for $528 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Location, Location, Location! Our second Getaway in Lake Placid is in the heart of the Hillcrest area of Lake Placid. We are a luxury rental with full amenities and details designed for our Getaway to feel like your home away from home. Fully furnished and outfitted with everything you need to enjoy and create experiences while visiting. Cookies and hot cocoa included along with all linens, towels, soaps, cooking utensils, oil, spices, etc.. We are also a full retreat with customized experiences by John as your Getaway Concierge while staying. John’s advice and service help to make your stay memorable. We are a fully licensed Short Term Rental Home by the town of North Elba (license number 200406) PLEASE no parties/loud gatherings. We are in the heart of Lake Placid where many families live, work and play. We must respect our neighbor's peaceful living. If you see that the dates you are looking for are not available, please contact John for more details. Some dates are blocked for personal use but may be opened back up based on your dates. Came here for Christmas week with a toddler and grandparents/family. All was as described and the house was very well stocked. Lots of great lighting, nicely decorated. Very close walk to Main Street that involves a hill but we enjoyed it! John was frequently communicating with us. Had a nice stay.

This is hands down the cleanest and most well-appointed rental we've ever enjoyed visiting! What a pleasure. The lovely furniture, quality beds/linens, user friendly kitchen, up to-date fixtures and extras like games/puzzles, movies, foosball/darts/wii/etc. made for a pleasant getaway for our family of 6.
Although the weather was chilly and rainy for our weekend visit to Lake Placid, we could retreat to this cozy haven and sit by the fire, enjoy a good meal and relish in the change of pace. Our children loved the house too, especially the basement rec room area.
We were in town for our sons' speed cubing competition at a local resort, so we were in and out frequently for various events associated with that. This location provided easy walking to coffee shops, retail, restaurants, Olympic sights, Mirror Lake - all the THINGS!

Love the Adirondacks and had not yet been to Lake Placid in the Fall. John was super responsive when we booked his home for the weekend. He made sure the house was clean inside and out as the leaves were falling! He also left a gift in the fridge as we were there to race the Lake Placid Classic Half Marathon. He was super thoughtful and responsive the entire weekend when we had a few questions about the house.

The house is beautiful, comfortable, and just as advertised. The owners have current "things to do" magazines, as well as their own wonderful recommendations. Easy to store our bikes and gear. Great interactions with the owner. Wonderful from start to finish. A true five star experience!

We had an amazing Adirondack vacation while staying here. The house is fabulous, and had everything we needed for two families (4 adults and 3 kids). The kitchen is large and there are many places to sit and share a meal -- the countertop bar or the large dining room table. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are all nicely furnished and have everything you need. The bathrooms are updated. The living space is lovely -- a gas fireplace, TV with all the streaming platforms, and a great sound system. And the basement area game room was super with kids! There is also a washer and dryer, which is helpful after Adirondack adventures. The location is very convenient, and the neighborhood is quiet. The neighbors (especially the 4-legged ones) are very friendly. Highly recommend this rental. It is worth every penny!

upon check-in, we checked the property and it all around was a fantastic place. Great home and great layout.
The day of check in, when trying to use the shower, we place a towel on the commonly used towel rack that fell right out of the wall. After telling the owner about this and being told that it’ll be taken care of, we were charged.
We of course respect the 10am check out time, and though we had left not too long after that (from cleaning up and taking out the trash) the owner arrived, alone, stating that housekeeping was going to be late so it was not an issue. (We were also charged for this).
I was contacted an hour after checking out stating that they cannot find a “$500 remote” which we’d be charged for, just for it to be found on the floor of the room.
I, myself, am in the hospitality business and ownership so I understand the frustrations of letting someone use your home is a disrespectful way. But the way we were spoken to and charged for unnecessary conditions after checking out just shows the lack of respect from the management of this property.

We could not have asked for anything more in this rental. We were in town for a figure skating competition and the location was perfect. Having so many supplies at the house like kitchen items, linens and paper products made our trip so much easier! We would highly recommend this rental and hope to be back next year!

We really enjoyed our stay, John and Heather are excellent hosts and the house was perfect. The location is close to town, the house was spotless, spacious for our group of 7, and had everything that we needed. The first floor with the large kitchen, dining room, and living room with fireplace allowed everyone to gather for meals and to catch up at the end of the day with plenty of room, and the kids absolutely loved the basement TV/game room. We visit Lake Placid often and this was our first time in a house, we usually stay at Whiteface Lodge. We chose this house because of it's proximity to town and because it looked cozy for our winter trip this year. Overall, it was perfect, we'd highly recommend it.

The property is in the best neighborhood right behind main street. Walking distance to ice rink and all shops and restaurants. The pictures did not do the property justice. It is so beautifully decorated and the best stocked rental we have ever had! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

This property is beautiful and set up to provide a relaxing, 'guest-centric' experience. The owner is incredibly responsive and accommodating- even provides cookies for guests. The pantry and kitchen are well stocked, the linens are luxurious and there is plenty of space to relax and spread out-both indoors and outdoors. A truly first rate home and experience.

This is by far the best experience I have had on VRBO - and I have had MANY trips with VRBO. This is the most wonderful home and property! Everything is pristine and well thought out, we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The owner is the nicest person and so incredibly accommodating. The home had everything you would need and is well stocked with towels, cookware, even spices, and paper towels. It is a very short walk to the Main Street, to the park, and very convenient location to grocery store (which as a mom of toddlers is important). We loved sitting on the porch with a fire going, relaxing and enjoying the view. All the furniture is clean and comfortable - the kitchen is AMAZING! I enjoyed cooking and found that there was nothing they didn’t have from measuring cups to foil to nice quality pots and pans. The master bedroom has a luxurious king bed, a large closet and a great attached bath. My little guys were in pack-n-plays in the other 2 bedrooms and they were each a good size, had AC and were decorated so cute. My husband’s favorite part was the finished area of the basement - he loved watching a movie with our sons and playing foosball there. Highly recommend this property and plan on returning many times!

John's property in Hillcrest is utterly amazing! The home is beautiful, spacious, and spotless. The great room with cathedral ceilings, a fireplace, comfy sofas, large screen TV, and large windows overlooking the front deck and surrounding trees is very peaceful, relaxing, and quiet. The home sits on a large forested lot such that you feel as though you are deep in the woods yet just a short walk into Lake Placid Village. We enjoyed walking into town for the restaurants and shops. John's Bucket List recommendations for food and activities were always spot on. We had fabulous meals as well as rented kayaks, mountain bikes, and did many wonderful hikes, all within a 15-30 minute drive of the home. Also, the home offers all of the creature comforts as well as more. The beds were supremely comfortable, the blankets ultra soft, and the bathrooms and kitchen well equipped. The frozen cookies available for us to fresh-bake are a very nice (and much appreciated) touch. We also had fun playing foosball and darts in the basement playroom. There is so much to do in the home and nearby. We will definitely be returning to this gorgeous property to explore ADK more. Thank you!

We had a terrific stay at John's place! He was very communicative before our visit and provided great recommendations for food and fun. It's a short walk down to Mirror Lake, shopping, and the sights of Lake Placid. Absolutely would recommend this wonderful home with John as your host!

We were looking for a homebase for adventures that gave us access to the village, the mountains, the water, and some quiet. This property gives you all 4 and more. Very quiet, easy to use directions for everything in the house, and just no worries. It was just what we needed!

Ski Weekend Getaway
Came with a group of friends for a few days of skiing at Whiteface. The house is situated right behind Main Street and is super close to all the shopping/restaurants. John is a perfect host, and is always a call away in case you have any questions or need help with anything. Even though we barely used it, the bonus room downstairs is perfect if traveling with children. The house was immaculate and more than enough room for the 6 of us. If coming back to Lake Placid, we would definitely book here again!
