Wonderful location. Clean and spacious. It fit our family of 6 quite comfortably. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This apartment is central to Grassmarket and other areas. If you have any disability then the access is not good. The stairs are uneven and not good when carrying cases etc. If you are looking for a city break and don't mind a lot of noise from the street then it's good for you. There was a lot of noise from the flat above and the road outside which went on until about 5am. Also unfortunate for us they were digging up the road outside. Positives: it looks as depicted; the pull out couch is a nice extra sleeping area; it has been recently renovated; it is right off a main street so easy walking distance to many convenient stores and attractions Negatives: 1) upon arrival, the hot water and the washing machine didn't work, and we only had two days in town, and the owner responded unhelpfully that she was at a party so couldn't communicate with us... the next morning she offered to have our laundry done while we were out, which was helpful, and would have been even better had she offered that immediately when the problem arose. 2) the bedding was not clean on one of the beds. There was a huge urine stain that went through the comforter to the sheets. The rest of the place seemed clean, but that was gross. Things to be aware of: 1) The location is on a busy street, so it was noisy, so just be prepared for that. 2) It is located on the 3nd floor (stairs only) so be prepared for that if you have a lot of luggage (we had backpacks so it was fine). 3) assuming the washer works, be aware it is the smallest machine machine I've ever seen. Also, there is no dryer. There is a heated hanging rack in the bathroom, but don't expect to be able to do a lot of laundry, as the capacity of the drying rack is probably one or two very small loads of clothes.
