Facilities and staff. The views are unmatched from the ocean front rooms. The location of the resort is perfect. Security did a great job keeping out non guests from the premises
Doors are not sound proof and if other hotel guests are not considerate you can hear them talking loudly in the lobby.
The shower/tub combo is an odd design.

The best hotel in Cat Ba by a wide margin. While most of the village is a construction site, Flamingo hotel is located in a preserved area, it is small haven. There is a private beach, a very nice restaurant (Sona Sea), and staff is very helpful
The only thing which was really bad, is that on the day of my visit, one of the 2 access points to Cat Ba island was closed, and the hotel did not even inform me, while they sent an email with some information on access which was totally irrelevant to our stay. Not the best service you would expect from such a 5-star hotel.

Excellent location, nice beaches, grate views, amazing jungle style balcony, good breakfast. Very helpful staff did all their best to advise us on all questions we had.
We stayed for two nights in this hotel. The room (mountain vew) was clean and comfortable. Convenient to travel by car - free parking place available at the private hotel territory. There are many sea food places to have lunch or dinner available in a walking distance (up to 10 minutes by foot). Hotel shuttle services is also available (extra paid).
Please put something on a balcony/ bathroom to dry a swimming dress
Conditioning in the night was a bit strong even we put it on the lowest level, so that my husband caught a cold and we turn it off next night.
Clearness of the beach could be a bit better.
No beverages (cola, beer etc) available in the minibar (only water).
