Ranch-Style Farmhouse in the Rolling Hills of Northwestern Pennsylvania
About this house rental
Located in Allegheny River, this charming house for $150 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This 1950s Vintage Ranch-Style Farmhouse in the Country is a Perfect Setting for Your Family Get-Away • This family homestead reflects the love, strength and support of family. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, this rancher provides a country atmosphere with access to over 30 acres. During your stay, we welcome you to enjoy fresh in-season produce from the garden (e.g., Pop-Pop's delicious sweet corn, beans, squash, tomatoes), raspberries, grapes and apples. During winter months the rolling hills provide great snow sledding and snow shoeing opportunities. After a day in the snow, you and your family can reflect on the memorable events of the day in front of the fireplace. • The homestead includes 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, fully-equipped kitchen and game room in the basement. The large covered back deck overlooks the serene country setting. Often times in the evening, deer are seen sneaking into the orchard to feed. The deck also includes a dining table, multiple patio chairs, and an outdoor propane grill. There is also a picnic pavilion just off the back deck with a large picnic table, and Pop-Pop's porch swing overlooking the garden. Other amenities include a washer, dryer, fireplace, TV, DVD player and free Wi-Fi (works well for web browsing and emails but not for streaming). • If you love nature, there is plenty of wildlife and amazing hiking opportunities on the 30+ acre premises that are available for your enjoyment. There are also many nearby attractions. Within a 30 minute drive, you can enjoy Tionesta Lake, Canadohta Lake, Woodcock Lake, Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad, Drake Well Museum, Queen City hiking and biking trail system, and much more. In under an hour drive you can also enjoy all that Erie, PA has to offer, including Presque Isle State Park. The western border of the Allegheny National Forest is only 25 miles east of our homestead property. • Perfect for couples, families, friends, and anyone else who wants to get away from it all. Please note that at least one guest must be 25 or older. • No cleaning fee is charged for this property.

It is almost back to school time. And this home was everything we needed. It is located in a quite neighborhood with LOTS of wildlife- There is a doe and 2 fawns as well as hummingbirds, butterflies, robins- even a squirrel that runs under the huge oak. Plenty of yard space to toss football and play corn toss. For those who love to cook for the family....there is a great deck with table and chairs for everyone to watch you grill! The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need to prepare the favorites. There isn't air conditioning...Because it is not needed. Ceiling fans and portable fans and open windows kept the living space very comfortable! Oh, and the beds - they provided the support needed for a very relaxing night sleep. There were no early risers on this vacation. If you looked at this property on Vrbo look no farther. This is the perfect home for YOUR vacation!

We’ve even to this property before. The grounds are beautiful, well -manicured. The house is move-in clean; you don’t feel you need to get a Clorox bucket and start wiping down before you cook.
Always well-equipped, everything you’d need. This was a family reunion with ages 40-80.
Will definitely be back!

What a wonderful place to stay! The outside was amazing, with so much space for our kids to play and explore! Everyone enjoyed the beds they slept too! Our favorite parts of the home were the pavilion and the burn pit, we had a lot of fun sitting around the campfire and roasting smores. We all wished we could have atayed longer! We're hoping to come back next Memorial weekend and make it a family tradition😊

We stayed here the weekend of my college graduation. It was great to have somewhere within 1-2 hours of nearly everywhere we wanted to go. I was able to see family I had not seen since I was about 6.
I live in the city now, but I'm from a small town. After finishing my degree, I wanted to get away from the lights and white noise for a bit. This was perfect for that purpose!
My only issues with the property were:
-there was a strong floral cleaning scent in the living area when we first got there that made me sneeze for a bit.
-the front door was a concern, only because we brought our cat with us. The screen door closes veeerrrrrrryyyy slowly, which makes it difficult trying to keep the creature inside while bringing stuff from the car.
These issues were so minute, and the memories are so precious! I don't think I'll have a reason to stay here again, but I would make the choice again!

We had a good, quiet, relaxing stay. On the first night, it was nice to have power, as there was a power outage in Centerville and Titusville.
We were 7 extended family members from out of state (3 separate states) visiting other family in the area. Weather was cold, as low as 24, but did get up to the high 60s one afternoon which made the back porch enjoyable.

This was the best experience I have had. The accomodations were beyond my expectations and the home is just that a home. So cozy and warm. We did not want to leave. Jackie does a fantastic job. You feel more like family than guests.

At first arrival I was so worried because this was the complete opposite of a “hunting camp.” This house was so warm and homey I was afraid of being too messy but my crew was great and I bought a boot tray and was able to keep it clean with no effort. This was such a well equipped rental, it lacked nothing. Hope to stay next year if they’ll have us.

My extended family and I had a great place to stay while we attended a wedding near by.

We booked this great house with the intention of having 8 stay here. We only ended up with 4, however, 8 would have been comfortable. Was to be a brother’s reunion but had some illness in 2 families. Area is remote…lots of deer. Great historical attraction at Drake Oil museum and love Oil Creek State park. Trees just starting to turn. 🍁 Accommodations are very good. They have just about everything you could need!

My siblings and spouses have been fortunate to have held an annual get-together for more than 20 years. As we are getting older, the Homestead Hearth was perfect for us - four bedrooms on the ground floor and a big covered deck made it easy for us to enjoy the beautiful country setting.
The Homestead Hearth was the best equipped home that we have ever rented and the local host/owner was quick to respond to questions and very accommodating to a couple special requests for one sibling that will soon have a hip replacement. Our dogs also enjoyed the big deck and open yard and fields to play.
Our family would highly recommend this home.

From the time you drive ip to the beautiful property and nature that surrounds you, you take a fresh breath and begin to unwind. As you walk unto the gorgeos deck , furnished with swing and furniture, you know where coffee is going to be! Next you walk into the house and are blown away. Other than food and your own shower needs...everything is provided and I mean everything!
Enjoy the wildlife and your walks. We love it here and will continue voming back! Jackie and Scott are wonderful to work with! ~ Lori Burton-Cluxton

This property was wonderful! My husband and I, parents, siblings, and young niece stayed for a long weekend, and couldn't be happier with our stay. The home was clean and tidy, and had enough space for everyone to have their own room, which was a treat. The setting is beautiful- a large covered patio overlooking the grounds, which includes beautiful scenery and a butterfly garden that had visitors all weekend long! We were lucky enough not to need the covered patio, since the weather was beautiful. We had plenty of space for yard games, and enjoyed a bonfire every night. Jackie was honestly one of the best hosts I have dealt with- courteous, welcoming, and extremely responsive. I would recommend this property 100% to any family looking to get away and enjoy each other's company. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Christmas with the family
Such a wonderful, relaxing & fun stay that we had! This house has such a comfortable vibe, and the property provided so much fun for our kiddos to play in the snow. This vacation was a blessing in so many ways, and our host was very kind & welcoming. We hope to be able to return, and would look to stay here first!

Wonderfully peaceful retreat!
I was looking for a place that offered peace, quiet, and seclusion which is something that city life doesn't provide. I wanted to be able to walk on the property versus doing activities elsewhere. This place provided all of that and then some. This is the 1st time I've ever stayed anywhere that I didn't wish for my own bed. My dogs and myself immensely enjoyed walking on and around the property. We all enjoyed the complete and utter peace and quiet that this place brought us. Thank you so much Jackie for being a wonderful hostess.

We didn't spend a lot of time at the house but we enjoyed the space for some evening discussions and a place to sleep. Jackie communicated so well. Thank you, Jackie! We'll keep your place in mind if we get up that direction again!
