About this condo rental
Situated in Texas City, this charming condo for $175 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Our wonderful piece of paradise is a 3rd floor condo located on the east end of Galveston, at Islander East. It is a wonderfully decorated, beachfront, studio condo with an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. You will be able to enjoy this wonderful view while sitting in 2 tall high-back chairs, so as to see over the railing, with a table in the middle. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine or drink while watching the waves crash right in front of you. The beach is just a few steps away, across the private footbridge and over the dunes. In the large room, you will find a loveseat and smart TV. You will also find a very nice Queen-size bed with a comfy Tempurpedic mattress. In the remodeled Bath, you will find a wonderful walk-in shower with custom tile. There is a little step up into the shower with a gripping handle next to the entrance. The condo comes with private WiFi. You will be given the login once booked. In our newly remodeled Kitchenette, you will find a small refrigerator with a small freezer, a 2-burner electric cook-top, and a microwave. We supply also a blender, toaster, and a convection oven for your use. We also have plenty of glasses for your use, pots and pans, and dishes. A 42" wall-mounted TV can be seen from the bed and sofa. It’s a smart TV so that you access your Netflix, Hulu, etc. We welcome only 2 guests Fees that will be charged at the time of booking or just after: Nightly rental fee; State and City Hotel Taxes of 15%. A cleaning fee of $80 for your stay; A resort Fee of $30; A Property Fee of $15 per night; A VRBO service fee. (This is a percentage of your rental fee set by VRBO); A refundable damage deposit of $100. This is a hold placed on your credit card and it is released 14 days after you depart unless we have to claim damages. You must be 25 years of age to rent our condo. Winter Texans are welcome. During hurricane season, June to November, no refunds will be given unless there is a named category 1 or higher storm heading to Galveston. A change of date may be possible. SCAM.....we do not advertise on Craigslist. We also do not accept cash or cashier’s checks.

We are from the DFW area and I had a conference in Houston from Wednesday-Friday. My husband and I decided to extend our southern stay by going to Galveston-one of our favorite places. I found this condo on VRBO and booked it since we have always enjoyed our previous stays at Islander East. The condo was clean and just what we wanted/needed. The owner was also very kind and accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

This was a last minute weekend getaway for my wife and I. The host could not be more accommodating. She went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The studio was very clean and had everything needed to make our stay relaxing. We make this trip several times a year and we will check for this condo first.

The property was lovely. We enjoyed staying at Anchors Away so much. The place was clean and comfortable. The owners had everything we needed available to us in the room. Sunrise was visible from the balcony which was an exceptional bonus. The grasses over the dunes were such a pleasure to watch rippling in the wind with the beach just behind them. It was a terrific getaway for us and we look forward to staying there again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this very quaint condo. I loved how it was away from the bustle of the main drag of Galveston. It was so clean and stocked with all the essentials. The balcony was a nice place to relax and the pool was lovely. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for such a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

From our reservation to our checkout it was a perfect experience. The location towards the east end of the island is quiet and beautiful while still being close to everything on the sea wall and the Strand. Love, love, love the view from this condo and the taller chairs on the balcony are perfect. Everything we needed was there and all was very clean and comfortable

The condo was listed very accurately and we were greeted only with pleasant surprises. Everything we needed, down to sunblock and beach towels, was included. Lisa was super responsive and friendly and The Islander staff was very welcoming as well.

Everything that we thought we needed was there, and even those things that we did not think of were there. (Use their picnic basket and watch the sunset!) We appreciated everything that the property and its location has to offer. No smoking and no pets was a plus. It was a perfect couples getaway.

Can't beat the view! Place is a little on the smaller side, but I feel that is fairly presented in the photographs. Perfect size for a couple. Property is very clean, secure, and well managed, with great amenities and direct beach access. It is also nice to be on east beach, which is less crowded, clean, and very close to downtown and the Strand.

Lisa is an outstanding host! Our unit was well stocked and so cute!! The private beach and the view is awesome:) The property is safe and well maintained. We loved being in a quiet area, away from the busy part of Seawall. Staff were wonderful, especially John, the gentleman who checked us in. Will definitely be back!

My daughter and I started our spring break trip here in Galveston. After much research on where to stay, I kept coming bacK to Anchors Away. Your condo didn’t disappoint!
It was very clean & homey. Loved the quiet private beach that East Beach is.
The dehumidifier, once emptied, made a huge difference. Finding the beach chairs under the bed for day 2 was a game changer to our beach time. Loved the balcony with the high rise chairs and beautiful views.
Also grateful for antibiotic ointment and
bandaids for blisters.
This being our 1st time to Galveston, would definitely want to return to your condo for a repeat stay!

I was unhappy when I realized I forgot my binoculars, turned out to be a non issue. They had some there. What a fantastic sunrise view from bed.

This is our second time to stay at this condo unit. Once again, it was a fantastic stay. The accommodations and the various amenities provided at the unit were great. This unit is where we want to stay for our next trip to Galveston because it was so nice. The owners are very good at answering any questions quickly. You will not be disappointed with this unit.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo was clean, great view of the Gulf and convenient path to the beach. Driving distance to the Strand and other sites around Galveston was very short, which made our looking around the area very easy. Great place to stay if you plan to visit Galveston.

Beautifully appointed condo. I was concerned it would be a little small, but we had plenty of room and we’re very comfortable. Loved the touches like extra sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner. The location on the east end of the island is less crowded than other places but still a short drive to downtown and the sea wall. My daughter and I had a great weekend and would not hesitate to book this condo again.

The unit owner really considered guest needs in every inch of this studio sized condo. Upgrades throughout, including bar stool height patio chairs. This was my first time to stay in East Beach and I loved how the beach just had a few people, since the public beach farther west. I usually try different locations when traveling, but
this unit is staying on the “book again” list. Highly recommended.

Great little studio condo
The property was as described and even better. The view from the balcony was awesome. It's listed as third floor, but first floor is called ground, so it is actually four stories up. I found it gave a great view of the water, the area, and the ships lined up for the Houston shipping channel. It is very conveniently located on East Beach, minutes away from the Maritime Musuem if you want to take a harbor cruise, also minutes from Seawall Blvd, where one can have breakfast at Miller's, shop at Murdock's and then lunch at the Spot. Truthfully, other than the harbor tour and a stop at Murdock's, I spent most of my time at the condo. Another reviewer mentioned that the A/C blows over the bed. It does, but there are drawers at the end of the bed with blankets in them. I used one of them. Another reviewer mentioned that some kind of cover is needed on the east side of the balcony as the next-door unit is set back on the left side. Yes, if you want to drink coffee on the balcony at 9 am, you will be hot. If, like me, you want to watch the sun rise from the balcony and get some great photos, the wide view to the east is fantastic. There was one small hiccup when I checked in. I messaged Lisa and she called me immediately and we got it resolved. Can't go wrong with this unit, nor with its owner.
