Check in was very quick and easy. The room was very clean and had extra thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome (like extra QTips and extra pillows). There was also an oscillating fan in the room that my husband was excited to have.
The location is very central, so we were a short walk from excellent food and pubs.
We parked on the street close to the room and had no issues leaving and coming back with the car at different times.
We also took advantage of the laundry service, which was an awesome bonus! There is a fee, but it was worth it to us to not have to sit in a laundromat doing it ourselves.
We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was delicious. The best oysters I’ve had on the trip!
Some reviews sites restaurant noise, but we only heard a little bit. It’s important to know, they stop serving food at 8:30pm, so if there is noise it’s very minimal and is over by 9:30ish…nothing that impacts sleep.
Everyone was very nice and helpful.
I don’t have any complaints. We’ve stayed at lots of AirBnBs, Inns and hotels and Ashes is definitely one of our favorites.

Convenient location. Space was a bit tight for us, but sufficed.
The TV remote barely worked, so we really didn’t have TV to unwind at the end of the day. Locking our door from inside with the old skeleton key seemed dangerous/fire hazard. Definitely should update this for safety purposes.

Great location. Lively street and quite noisy but this is made completely clear on the listing, no issues there. Spotlessly clean and really friendly staff, especially helping us get organised for a late night check in after a flight delay.
It would have been really handy if there was a way of getting hold of the iron on a Sunday (when the restaurant is shut) and there's no one to unlock the cupboard!
