About this cottage rental
Situated in Honeoye Lake, this charming cottage for $300 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Our home helps you relax and take in lake life the moment you enter. It has authentic, original knotty pine walls that are beautiful and homey. With a wide open floor plan, you can view the lake and Bristol foothills from the kitchen all the way through to our "lake" room via the huge picture window. Our 50' wide lakefront property has a level walk to the lake or to the dock, fishing off of which is loads of fun. Lake access is just a step into it or a boat ride off the end of the dock! (Please wear water shoes due to zebra mussels.) We have a canoe and a kayak for rent if you wish to use it. Otherwise, bring your own watercraft or rent it from the local marina, Trident. The lovely lapping sound of water puts your mind at ease while you sit on our spacious patio with plenty of seating, table space, sun-shading umbrella and Weber grill. The fire pit is great for roasting marshmallows or making smores while you look at the night time sky or across the lake. Firewood is available around town or bring your own if you are within 50 miles of our cottage. We have lawns on both sides of the road that provide for plenty of room to play games. The road, off the main drag, is quiet and neighbors are friendly. Restaurants, stores, gas stations, wineries and scenic trails are all a short distance away. In the town of Honeoye, there are a couple restaurants, two shops that feature crafts from local creators, a yarn shop, grocery store, and a drug store. Naples is 20 minutes away with Grimes Glenn State Park (so much fun), several wineries, restaurants, a quilt shop and an Artisan craft shop. Canandaigua is just a 30-minute drive. We have three bedrooms, two with queen beds, the third one has a single and trundle bed. Although they are not large bedrooms, they are adequate for a week at the lake. All bedrooms have in-window air conditioners. There are no televisions in bedrooms. Who needs one when you can gaze at the beautiful lake? All bed linens are supplied. The living room also has an air conditioner and/or fan that's large enough to make it comfortable in the open floor plan. The main room is quite large, lots of room for dining at the table, lounging on the sofa and recliner, playing games, and looking at the lake from most all places in the room. The television is in this room. We have wi-fi and there is streaming service with information on how to get to apps. There is another room at the front (lake side) of the cottage with another fantastic view of the lake. It's pretty close to a panoramic view. The sunrise comes through the windows in this room and it's really a sight to behold. It's fun to have morning coffee in here if you don't want to venture outside so early in the morning. But, nothing can beat being on the deck next to the water with your morning Joe or fishing from the dock as the sun comes up. The deck/patio has tables and seating for a good number of people. We have all sorts of trays available for you to easily carry your food from the kitchen to the deck. We have two bathrooms. One bathroom has a full tub/shower combination; the second bathroom has separate shower and toilet facilities and is incorporated in the laundry room. Towels and wash cloths are supplied as well as beach towels. Washer and dryer are there for your convenience. All appliances and utensils are in the kitchen and basic spices are supplied. There is a code to enter the cottage that will be provided the day of your arrival. Enjoy!

The cottage is open-concept with a view from the kitchen at the front of the house to the lake at the back. Lot is flat with easy access to the water. Great place to go "catching" versus 'fishing". Host is extremely helpful and easy to communicate with.

Wish we could have stayed longer!!
We had an awesome time, everything we could ask for and more. Yvonne the owner was very accommodating, the cottage was very spacious and cozy. The lake was just right we had a pontoon, enjoyed floating and swimming. If your looking for peace & quiet this is the place, we were able to dock the pontoon at the Twisted Rail Brewery & enjoyed their clam jam, it was delicious, hope to return next year😊

Yvonne is great to work with. Property is exactly as stated and so clean. Checked up on us when possible bad weather. Great to be able to dock our boat just steps from the back porch. Had a great fishing trip with my husband. Would definitely stay again!!

The cottage was very clean and very well equipped-there was nothing left out. Books, music, videos and games were well stocked. The property was nice as there was a lot of room for parking and lawn area. Sunrise from the living room area was just stunning. From a fishing perspective the lake was lacking but I think it was just the time of the year, there were too many weeds to catch anything substantial in this shallow lake.-we got mostly small perch, small large mouth and some pumpkinseeds. The only downfall was that the bedrooms were very very small and the second bath was set up oddly. Fortunately the common areas had a nice open format which made up for the small bedrooms. Due to a miscommunication with the owner the boatlift was not available for renters so we had to tie our boat to the dock. Overall a pleasant stay and the owner was very nice and responsive.

A life time of memories, all rolled up into a week! Leading up to our Family week at "The Stay Awhile" cottage. Had many texts and emails between Yvonne and I. She was amazingly detailed in all her responses. Answering all our questions on the facilities and attractions in and around the lake.
Upon arrived, we met Yvonne and Terry in person, and they provided us the tour of the cottage. First observation was how much larger the living areas were. The view was spectacular from the front room.
The kitchen was very well supplied, along with the bathrooms. Our Grand Child loved the shelves of story books. When I opened the chest of games her eyes lit up. Once outside we found the patio furniture, gas grill and fire pit. We even were taught the game of washers by Terry!
The dock was perfect for fishing and swimming. They even have weed suppression material around the swim area to keep the weeds at bay.
This place had so much to offer, and the owners are wonderful people. They even provided us a wonderful gift bag with family made items and a personal note from from our hosts! We loved our stay so much, we went ahead and booked are stay for next year!

There isn't one thing I could think that I would change about this cottage. I could live there! Everyone relaxed and just chilled. There were books, movies, games and more if you wanted. Just reading and enjoying the lake was the best.

Great views to top a great stay!
This spacious cottage was a great size for my family! There were 6 of us, 3 kids (14, 6, and 2) and 3 adults that stayed for 4 days, it was perfect getaway. The views and access to the lake were unbeatable and the entire place was really clean! A sincere thank you to Yvonne and Terry for the great communication, all of the thoughtful touches and recommendations, and everything was provided that you could think of! I would highly recommend this house and the hosts!

Clean and Quiet
7/3/2020-7/8/2020 Nice clean and quiet property overlooking the lake. Like other reviews - all you need to bring is food. Everything you need is already there. Yvonne was wonderful to work with. Inquiries were answered within minutes. The neighbors are great too!

Fantastic getaway
Yvonne is a fantastic host. She greeted us and showed us around. Answered all our questions, and she had a notebook with local attractions and directions. The place had everything you could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable. The view was to die for. Cant wait to go again. We loved sitting around enjoying the view, swimming and fishing in the lake. Yvonne thank you for a great time.

Perfect getaway
I was looking for a place to let my 4 and 7 year old boys play after a long spring inside. This was the perfect place to take them! They spent endless hours fishing and jumping off of the dock. We loved roasting s'mores and enjoying the quiet, peaceful lake. The property was clean and beautifully maintained with fabulous communication from the owner. Will definitely visit again!

Couldn't have asked for better!!
Not only was the owner super nice & incredibly accommodating, the house was amazing as well! Very clean. The view is gorgeous and there is dock access! My family loved being able to spend the day on the lake then come back to grill and make smores. We will definitely be booking again!
