It was very centrally located and easy to get to the sites in Centro. The staff were very friendly and helpful

4 beds to a room with a washroom were quite comfortable. The location was on the main pedestrian street, very near shops, restaurants, and crowds. There was an English-speaking front desk staff member, and he was very helpful. They allowed me to check in early and store my luggage after checking out. The AC worked very well.
I was asked to pay in cash an additional local tax (said to be to help environmental protection) when I checked in. This was in addition to the room rate + tax quoted by the platform. The staff explained that this applies to all hostels in the state. I have traveled to a few hostels in the state, including in Tulum, Play del Carmen, Cancun and Puerto Morelos, and have not been charged in addition to what I agreed to pay and deducted from my card. So, what they said was untrue. This tax is not transparent and unfair. This is probably the first I have encountered in the hundreds of hostels I have stayed in. I would not have booked it if I had known it in advance.
No soap, no shampoo, no hooks for clothes. Breakfast included a choice of fruits or coffee - a bit like a gimmick. I opted instead to pay for the buffet, which was pretty good value. No light at the bed, Wi-Fi not working until their technician rectified it the next day (their fault, but they did rectify it). No refill water, no towel. Some groups were talking loudly at 3 am in the morning but dispersed after 15 minutes. So, this hostel is really trying to save costs by giving a no-frill experience.

One of the best hostels in the centre of the city. It's located in an old historic building, giving it that heritage vibe. Walkable distance to the main square or Zócalo and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Walking distance to nearby metro stations. Very lively atmosphere. Great staff, always smiling and ready to help. A big shout out for Victoria as well as Karina!!! They didn't even ask me for a deposit for the towel when I went a second time! Clean bedsheets and pillow covers and clean restrooms (cleaning done everyday). Highly recommended!
There was no toilet seat in the men's toilet in my room 302. Once the liquid hand wash was finished, it wasn't filled up in the dispenser. Rather a small bottle was kept with liquid soap.

I booked the dorm with individual double beds and these were great for privacy. The dorm was clean and quiet.
The room was swelteringly hot. There was only 2 fans in the dorm which wasn’t enough to begin with but one broke on our first night and they removed it but didn’t replace it. They really need AC in there to make it comfortable.
The communal space is useless. The kitchen is dirty, the dining area is actually a bar blasting music even though there’s nobody there and the large reception area is closed off for a separate restaurant so there’s only 4 small tables for guests that are always taken with people checking in / out.
The staff aren’t very helpful. The cleaner came in to the dorm early and sat on the stairs playing videos and music out loud on their phone while half of the dorm was still asleep. The soap in the toilets was empty and we had to ask reception to refill it repeatedly - we asked 4 times in 24 hours and they kept saying they’d ’file a ticket’.
There’s no free drinking water so our dorm bins were constantly overflowing with plastic water bottles.
