About this house rental

Located in Selsey, this lovely house for $1,002 per night is a great option for your next break. The Beach House sits at the furthest point on West Beach, Selsey in West Sussex and looks directly out to the sea and the Isle of Wight. Its unique position, with uninterrupted sea views, gives the most amazing sunsets, and for those up early enough the most amazing sunrises too. With West Sussex officially the sunniest spot in the UK according to the Met Office, with 1,902 hours of sunshine every year you will have many opportunities to enjoy them as you soak in the hot tub, swim in the pool, or just relax on the terrace. Selsey is easily accessible and a great meeting place for people coming for many locations. It is only between 90 to 120 minutes drive from London. The Beach house consists of the main house and separate annex making it a wonderful venue for any sort of gathering; a perfect getaway for both winter and summer holidays and celebrations. It has a total of six double bedrooms and one single bedroom along with three bathrooms and two shower rooms, two kitchens, a games room, and a utility room. One double and one single bedroom and shower room are wheelchair accessible being located on the ground floor of the main house. The bedroom in the annex has a king-size bed and a double sofa bed. Two large cots with mattresses are available free of charge but there is a small charge for bedding and linen. The hot tub and swimming pool are in the large patio styled garden which is secured on three sides by a six-foot wall with a side door that leads directly to the beach via steps or a slipway. The pool is approx 1.4m depth and the width and length at the widest and longest points are 5m and 8m. Just below the patio and swimming pool there is a sun deck area with uninterrupted sea views. The hot tub can be heated up to 40 degrees year-round whilst the pool which looks over the sea is heated via an air source pump. As the heat is drawn from the surroundings the temperature will vary according to the ambient temperature. It will continue heating to about 26°C to 28°C but when it is cold it takes longer to heat up and cools down faster so in cooler months this temperature may never be achieved. As a general rule the pump will heat the pool to about 10°C higher than the surrounding temperature in the Spring, when the ground is cold and 12°C higher by the Autumn when the surrounding ground has been warmed over the summer months. It is available for use anytime but is only heated from mid - April to mid - October. By mid-April the weather will be between about 8-12 °C so should heat the pool to about 18 - 22 °C. Apparently, the minimum for comfort of lap swimmers is about 22 °C and David Lloyd clubs heat their pools to this temperature. There is also plenty to do in the house; it has a games room with a pool table, darts and football table. We also have Netflix, Sky Cinema , Sky Sport, BT Sport, Kids and all other sky channels and of course wifi. There are also two kitchens (one with an AGA) for baking and for food storage there are two American style fridge freezers, one in the kitchen and one in the annex games room. There is also an extra under counter freezer in the annex games room and an undercounter fridge in the upstairs kitchen in the annex. The front door is wide enough for a wheel chair and just has a shallow step of about 10cm. The driveway is pebbled so not particularly easy to manoeuvre a wheelchair and although their is a downstairs shower in the mainhouse it would not accommodate a wheelchair. In the annex there is a downstairs bathroom; slightly larger but it would still be difficult to accommodate a wheelchair. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor and the double bed in that room could be taken out and put in the single bedroom, and the single bed in the single room could be put in the double room; this way there would be space for the wheelchair in the bedroom. It would mean though that the single room could not be used. We realise this is far from ideal and we are planning to renovate the property in the next couple of years and will make sure it is designed so that a wheelchair user can move around independently on the ground floor, with self access to either a shower room or a bath and able to easily bring a wheelchair into the bedroom The number of cars that can be parked rather depends on their size, but you see from the aeriel view on Photo 37 that there is plenty of space to park on the driveway area and there is also plenty of space outside the house. The driveway also benefits from a Tesla electric car charging point. Well trained and well-groomed pets are also accepted in the uncarpeted areas of the house. In consideration of future guests, we request that dogs be kept on a leash at all times whilst in the gardens to ensure that they do not mark territory. The fee shown is for one pet only. If you would like to bring more that one please contact us when booking.. Over a weekend the minimum is usually three nights and an additional night's booking is required for each bank holiday day. Check-in and check-out can be any weekday except when it is a bank holiday or during the summer holidays (from late July until early September) when check in and check outs can be either a Monday or a Friday.. Winter holidays are usually a minimum of five days unless pre-arranged for a shorter period. Book three weekend nights from January to March and up to one night is free of charge (only an amount up to the lowest priced nights will be discounted if there is a difference in the prices of the available nights). Please note the free night is not available for school or bank holidays and is in addition to the minimum requirement, not as part of the requirement and is subject to availability at the time of booking (ie that there is an unbooked day available). Email at the time of booking to arrange. The house itself which sits on West Beach Selsey, West Sussex has direct views to the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. It was built on the footprint of an old fisherman’s Cottage using locally sourced and reclaimed materials. The Beach House is well-appointed, yet retains a quaint and characterful charm. It is in the thriving village of Selsey with a population of about 12,000 residents and is home to one of the last remaining fishing fleets on the south coast. It is widely accepted that Selsey has some of the best seafood in the world and local pubs and restaurants are happy to promote their local suppliers. Being rich in wildlife makes it a popular place for photographers looking to take snaps of rare birds and sea life such as seals. Selsey offers many activities for all the family from a private cinema, leisure centre, mountain biking, as well as fishing trips; only 9 miles away in Chichester there is the famous cathedral, shopping, theatres, and Roman remains, Goodwood house with racing and Weald and Downland living museum.

Great property for family gathering. Had issue with Garage/games room door. Fob stopped working and we had to get housekeeper to come and get it . Only access to games room was through garage door , so when inside the only way out was to open electric garage door . Felt anxious about family being inside especially after the door failure. The kitchen could be a bit better equipped. Shortage of roasting/ baking tins. The can opener did not work so we bought a new one. Only one wooden spoon and no serving spoon without drain holes. Could do with a few more dish cloths. Annex - kitchen was not equipped at all. So had to take cups spoons etc from main house to make tea/coffee. There was no cover on pool? No firefighters or matches to light wood burner. So we had to buy. Little things but thought you might like to know. Beds and bed linen very comfortable. Family really enjoyed hot tub once it had reached temperature . Great location for walks 9.30 very early to vacate as I had to strip all the beds and Follow departure instructions. No time for breakfast!

We had a lovely stay at The Beach House with family for my husbands birthday celebrations. The house was well equipped and spotless. Great communication and very helpful having Sue available for any concerns as she was very responsive and reassuring. Great location on the beach and easy access to the town. We all had a great time.

Property was ideal for 14 of us and in a great location. Well equipped and the swimming pool is a great attraction and well heated. Strong south westerly winds are difficult to escape on the terrace and a safety glass windbreak could be a good investment . Everybody had fun!

A lovely house that perfectly suited our multi-generational family. We stayed for a long weekend in early May and despite the mixed weather we made good use of the outside space, particularly the pool, hot tub and beach. In times when the weather was less pleasant, the house itself was very comfortable. The garden was mostly paved with plenty of outdoor furniture. It reminded us a bit of a pub garden – not a bad thing. It could do with a bit better outdoor lighting. We really appreciated the EV charger, especially after travelling a long distance to an unknown area. However, we found the rules and regulations excessive. Maybe put a bit more trust in your guests to act responsibly. On the other hand, the manager, Christine and housekeeper, Sue were very helpful and responded promptly when contacted. We hope to return.

Great for a break for a large family. plenty of room for 12 of us to sit together and eat. Ample private parking. Vehicle charge point is a bonus and worked on an Audi. The locally based cleaner/caretaker is exceptionally helpful.
